Before foundation: In the time land where the mist never subsided, before all the lands were even structured, a fierce giant of a man stated his decreed. In these times the Water Country was filled with many who sought power and legislature to match their brother countries. Many others desired the strength for personal greed, while others like Taira Ryuzaki simply wanted peace and a place to live in harmony with those who already knew the downfalls of the the requirement of power.
But just like every other legend, things didn't come easy. Many doubted his worth and wisdom. Various battles were fought to decide who would be named the ruler of this brotherhood they were making until the Daimyō himself decreed that Ryuzaki would obtain the position that he dubbed -- Mizukage -- leader of the Hidden Mist village. He also renamed his clan, from Taira to Soga.
Not only did the legacy of the first great Kage's reign begin so did the life of another -- a young chap named Odamura, of the Shioki Uji. Being a child he didn't quite understand why his family, a clan renown for their abilities to use the water elemental in what they knew as Ninjutsu, always fought, bickered and attacked the Mizukage, their leader, their founder. He also didn't understand why they fought so mindlessly to killed one another or anyone at all; because of this they called him weak, a whelp, and said he'd never result to anything in his life. If only they knew how foolish their claims were.
These words were his fuel, his angry, and his first known enemy. In an effort to become stronger he distanced himself from the others, abonding his clan he ran any from the district, dropping his surname Shioki as well. No older than the age of five, he trot lands that men four times his age were afraid to. He wanted to be strong and in order to do so he sought out the village that his clan hated the most -- the very place where he would soon grow to be an excellent addition to.
Around five or so years later, after wandering for some time Odamura met a man. A man who was stronger and scarier than any he had ever met before, a man named Mimura Yoshihito. One of the men who was born of a time even harder than his own, a man who had been ranked within the legacy that the Shodai was building, a man who saw the potential in Odamura, and the man who adopted Odamura and taught him everything he knew.
With Yoshihito being a Jōnin, he knew and possess much knowledge and was capable of teaching Odamura he needed to become strong. The road ahead of him was long and difficult, and he was told that by Yoshihito but he was willing to withstand it to surpass those who use to taunt and tease him. Training and structure were the two things that Odamura grew to know a lot about during his tutelage under the Mimura Ichizoku's leader. With him being named the son of the clan's head he was expected to be every bit as great as Yoshihito, and for that fact alone he had to work hard and push himself even more. To become strong and powerful, sacrifices were made. Odamura's sacrifice was his childhood and innocence which was taken from him when he decided to become the student of the Shodai's right hand.
Blood lust and mist: The thrill of taking a life was overwhelming; the feeling of someone else's warm blood dripping off your fist or down the blade of his katana, for all those who have experience this act, it was addictive. And so, it appealed to the young Odamura so much he often challenged and fought his peers, killing or wounding them severely. He enjoyed the thrill of killing, he obtained a hunger for it. He needed it, some say. As a result he grew heartless and cold, following in Yoshihito exact foot steps which saddened the now gray elder.
Many voice tried to tell Odamura that he was traveling down the wrong path but he wouldn't hear them, he was a warrior, and he wished to fight and kill as a warrior did. It took the death of Yoshihito, his only form of family to convince him that he had turned into an uncontrollable monster.
Years went by and after being left in the care of the Shodai Mizukage, the best friend of Yoshihito, Odamura finally learned the pain and trouble that Yoshihito always told him to avoid. The words he told him began to make sense. Upon reaching the rank of Jōnin, after being an ANBU and part of the personal assassination squad of the Shodai and Kirigakure; Odamura became notoriously known within his country and with a bit of training from the Shodai himself.
In the following year he took a group of Genin under his tutelage, their names: Takemara Tenzō, Totsuka Beneki, and Oyuji Suzuki. The team was a promising one though Tenzō, the only young boy Genin of the squad was rather unenthusiastic and was a mirror of what he was in his youth. Five years of his life was dedicate to teaching them to become among the best, even greater than him one day; he did taken them to hell and back, numerous so it was only natural that they surpassed him.
By the age of twenty-eight, after the death of the Shodai a new Kage was to be named. A man had to be chosen who was known for their strength, power and iron fist, a man named Mimura Odamura. That's right, after all his handwork and dedication to the village, his tactfulness, and his unmoving fist, Odamura was named the Nidaime Mizukage. With the uprising times coming to what they were coming to Odamura was in for a long hardship during his reign. Only a few years after being named the Mizukage, the First Great Shinobi War began. Kirigakure believed that Odamura was becoming weak and paled in comparison to the Shodai, his sensei and predecessor. They called him a coward for wanting to not get too far involved in the war, though it was inevitable that they did in the end. With a stern first and the unwavering eyes that many feared, Odamura lead his village through a long war. During the transition from the climax to the end of the war, the respect that the Nidaime deserved was returned to him and he was hailed as a truly power man, and leader.
In the following years many smaller scale battles were fought amongst Kirigakure though their militant Kage pushed forth and won time and time again. Odamura's legacy was filled with battles amongst outside clans who believed they deserved power and people who believed the government was weak, which was something that was disproved in the long run. After a twenty-seven year reign, two years before the start of the Second Great Shinobi War, Odamura retired with an obligation to work when necessary and his position as Mizukage was passed down to his former student Tenzō. The second war was more intense than the first, with his former student sitting in a spot he was in many years prior, he offered advice and wisdom to the Sandaime as it was required. With this war bigger more intense, he needed it.
