Gods and Titans among men, secluded in their mountains, isolated from the affairs of the children quarreling at the foot of the mountain. They were the Ujigan Ichizoku, a family of giants, one that was constantly sought out by the warring ninja clans to be utilized as weapons. Ujigan Jinpachi, the clan's leader would not have it happen, those coming to seek to join arms with the Ujigan would be turned away. Then there were clans who came to subjugate the Ujigan as would-be conquerors, and they were stomped out like flickering flames.
Over the decades, the number of Ujigan decreased, their already low numbers were brought lower by being caught in crossfire or being hunted due to their neutrality. Even then, the Jinpachi refused to enter the war or ally himself with any of the clans, he only advised his brethren not to tread beyond their keep. One would go against Jinpachi's orders, he would question why they fancied themselves above all others even when their strength dwindled and for it he was exiled for his brave words.
His name was Shinpachi. He was now alone in the world.
He spent years lending out his talent as a soldier of fortune, learning new things about Ninjutsu as he moved clan to clan. There was no clan that did not welcome a man of his stature, and it wasn't before long that he would have a reputation among Tsuchi no Kuni. One thing that the young Shinpachi wanted more than anything was to travel, and he had that now away from the clan. In this point in his life he thought that exile was the best thing that ever happened to him.
The years passed and the world was in metamorphosis. The warring was dwindling and the villages were coming to be, factions were being made and armies were unifying. It was during this time that Shinpachi was approached by two of his former ilk, the Ujigan, and was told that Shinpachi that Jinpachi had passed in the night and that his dying wishes was to seek out Shinpachi, for he was the only one who could lead them into this new world.
Shinpachi returned to the mountains, unsure of what he should do with the clan. While he considered leading the Ujigan out of seclusion, he had seen the world and grown some understanding as to why Jinpachi would not. It was in these days that he was approached by a former ally, Hattori Nobu of the Hattori Clan. Nobu told Shinpachi that in his travels and alliances he blazed a trail, creating alliances between clans that had not spoken in years and it was his actions as a mercenary that would form the prototype of what will be known as Iwagakure.
Nobu asked Shinpachi to join him in this venture, in creating Iwagakure no Sato and unifying the rest of the clans much like the Senju did south of them. Shinpachi felt like among the ranks of a larger army that their numbers would become dissolved, so the condition that the Ujigan Clan would only tread among their own with strong affiliation to Iwagakure was made. This way Shinpachi could respect Jinpachi's wishes of seclusion while contributing to the unification. No one would deny becoming part of the greater army of Iwa as it formed under the Hattori Clan with the Ujigan backing them.
Shinpachi made sure that the Ujigan stayed within the hierarchy of Iwa, but often found himself butting heads with Shodai Hattori Nobu. Nobu being the militant Tsuchikage often wanted the Ujigan whenever he could have them on missions or training, Shinpachi on the other hand wanted his men to stay out of pointless squabbles with other villages. While Shinpachi held his clan in the highest regards, he felt that Nobu saw them as nothing more than soldiers to be thrown onto the battlefield to flex the might of Iwa.
One of these instances was a while after the dawn of the shinobi villages, where Nobu wanted to up Iwa's military power. He was one of the first that sought to control one of the living chakra sources known as Bijū to harness it's power as one would harness power from any source. Shinpachi was against such a method, but Nobu went ahead and attempted to, anyway. Luring the beast into a trap with some of his finest ninja was easy, subduing it was what they couldn't achieve. The ninja were forced to retreat after losing too many of their number, but the angered beast followed them all the way back to the village where it tried to penetrate the gates but was deflected by Nobu himself.
Shinpachi came to Nobu's aid and the together they were able to fend off the Yonbi no Saru. Today the legend is told of how Shinpachi knocked the monster from its feet with but one punch, causing the ape to take flight despite it's fearsome power. Shinpachi was revered and almost worshiped among Iwa as was his clan.
The First Great Shinobi World War was upon them and there was tension between Nobu and Shinpachi was at an all time high. Despite this, Shinpachi stayed faithful to Iwa and in one of the most noteworthy battles in the War, defended the borders of Tsuchi no Kuni against would-be invaders. He and a number of his clan also crossed blades with the Kinkaku Force and succeeded in driving the Kinkaku Force back into a retreat. The struggle for the Bijū and the rights to them came to an end when Shodai Hokage took the Bijū and sealed them away out of everyone's reach forever.
The Second Great Shinobi World War came twenty or so years later. In those two decades he'd grown older and grayer, a lot still revered him for what he'd done in the past but due to his somewhat somber and docile nature. He'd grown into an eccentric old giant, most would say. Yorumon Banana was named Nidaime two years into the war after Nobu perished. While Banana seemed more respectful than Nobu when it came to Shinpachi's clan, he still seemed strained when it came to relations, though that would soon diminish over time during the second war.
Shinpachi proved many wrong about him growing too old to fight during this second war. He became known as Kazutori Shinpachi or Counting Shinpachi because every time he came across an enemy troop he would give them to the count of three to flee or surrender. Many saw this and joked about him being an old man who treated his enemies like children, never to his face, though. Much like the first war, Shinpachi was a vital part to Iwa's offense in the second war, taking place in pivotal battles alongside many of his clansmen.
While the war did not end on a positive note for Iwa, Shinpachi seems content with the uneasy peace that washed over the world when the war ended. As of late the only problems posed against a man like him is Iwa's council and the restrictions they try to place on the Ujigan Ichizoku due to them being giants who sometimes haphazardly knock over buildings.
But as they say, it's always something with someone.
PERSONALITY
Shinpachi shows an extreme dislike for Iwagakure's council and all the rules they impose on his clan, believing that the skills and techniques of his clan members will not be able to grow if he makes them conform to their rules. He frequently attempts to balance reprimands from the council and the eccentricity of his clan. Acting as a parent to the clan and the village, he looks after them, encouraging and inspiring them. This parent attribute is noticeable when he worries over the destruction that the clan may cause and tells them to try toning it down. This trait is especially obvious when he is disinterested in revenge for the damage caused to the clan's home in the mountains during militarization before the First Great Shinobi War, yet grows enraged and vengeful when he finds four of his "children" have been injured. He also has his own eccentric side, wearing an unusual hat or doing insane poses, another trait being his docile perverted nature. In battle he is quite ruthless, preferring to crush his enemies quickly, through provides every foe the chance to flee by counting to three. Outside of fighting he is kind and friendly, seen by many as a perverted old man.

Before militarization lead to one Hidden Village per country, the Ujigan lived in the largest mountain ranges in Tsuchi no Kuni, secluded from the world and its constant affairs. Once praised and believed to be Gods that watched over the mountains, the giants unfortunately found themselves dragged into the constant meddling after refusing their allegiance with neighboring clans, leaving them at war for decades. As their clans numbers continued to dwindle, to unite the land as one and cease the internal fighting, the Shodai Tsuchikage sought an alliance with the giants. Seeking peace and to protect his clansmen, Shinpachi agreed to join Iwagakure no Sato. | HEIGHT |
