PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Sanjou Kaemon is a well-built man, standing at five feet and ten inches. He is muscular, carries a wealth of dark hair tied into a pony-tail and wears sunglasses to make up for his failing vision. With a posture that can’t be matched, generally Kaemon can be seen wearing traditional outfits, such as kimono and hakama, with his head band attached to his sash. During missions his hakama are replaced by baggy, red pants, which are tucked into his knee high combat sandals. He wears a red robe over his chest, which is tucked into a thick black sash, and a brown flak jacket covers everything below his pectorals, as well as the left peck itself. Covering his arms and housed under his large, bellowing sleeves are black arm coverings which go down to his knuckles.
MENTALITY
The Museless Swordsmen
Sanjou Kaemon is an honorable man, who lives by a strong code, though that does not always require him to follow it to the letter. Rarely does he speak, gaining him the nickname “the Museless” amongst his peers due to his perceived lack of motivation. Despite these factors, he is a nice person and will help others out, however that does not go to say that he does not have the human fault of anger. Kaemon’s anger, however, is rarely expressed, and one can only tell that he is displeased if he simply turns away from whatever has displeased him.
BIOGRAPHY
Remove the Muse
Kaemon was born into the Sanjou clan, a clan of swordsmen whom once lived in Tsuchi no Kuni. These people often served the village they lived in as the policing force, and every member of their clan was raised to follow a strict code and work ethic.
Like his father, Kaemon as a child worked hard and played little. Though he wasn’t forced to, at the age of six he picked up his first bokken. He always trained harder than his peers and many of those his age thought he was scary because he rarely played with any of them. This lead to Kaemon having a rather lackluster sense of relationships as a child, and as such he merely made friends with grit and sweat.
During the first Shinobi war, however, a raid was launched on Tsuchi no Kuni. Despite the Sanjou clan’s efforts, they defeated and scatter, leaving the village to be looted. Kaemon was left in his mother’s arms, the woman breathing her last as she carried him away from the village. That same night, when the Shinobi of Iwagakure arrived to remove the invaders, Kaemon was discovered and taken back to the village.
Despite the heavy loss of his family, the child showed no real sorrow. Instead he merely shoved it deep inside and trained with his bokken even more. Noticing his skill in kenjutsu, and thinking that it could be used for the better of the village, Kaemon was enrolled into the Shinobi academy at the age of eleven. Two years later he graduated.
With help from his sensei, the Sanjou clan member learned and trained with his chakra nature, Doton, and went on to hone his kenjutsu skills. Life would pass on and the Genin team would become stronger. At the age of seventeen, Kaemon and his team would be enrolled into the Chuunin exams. Due to their field experience the group did well, with all three graduating and becoming Chuunin.
It was from here, however, that Kaemon became less and less noticable. Though he remained strong, no mission he participated on gained him any real merit, and soon he became something akin to a shadow within Iwagakure’s ranks.
When the Second Great Shinobi World War rolled around, the pattern did not break. Kaemon did not stand out and he was a part of many patrols and at the front lines of conflict. He did nothing of any real importance other then kill a few Shinobi, and it was here his peers named him the Museless.
When the war ended, Kaemon took on a job at the academy as a part time instructor to those interested in kenjutsu. He remains a Chuunin and continues to hone his skills, all the while remaining as a shadow amongst Iwagakure.
Recently Kaemon took on what was supposed to be a simple mission--Repel Bandits that were invading and pillaging. With skill he was able to do so, however leading the raid was a member from what he thought was his dead clan--his uncle, Sanjou Shin. The two did battle and Shin hinted that, perhaps, more Sanjou clan members exist.
Upon his defeat and death, one of the villagers entrusted him with her daughter as she died. Now the little girl, known as Fuu, lives with Kaemon and is slowly beginning to adjust to life in Iwagakure no Sato.
