H Y U G AA I R I S U
Iris, just like all others within the Hyuga clan, has a very slender and agile frame. Just like that of his brother, his hair is white in color, kept fairly short and spiked downward naturally. He wears a thick white cloth that covers his forehead and eyes, while never wearing his forehead protector, allowing no connection with the clan or village to become apparent, silently expressing his hatred of them both. He usually wears baggy clothing that allow him to move freely with little hinderance, most often wearing black pants and a t-shirt, as well as white bandage wraps that cover his hands and arms. When it comes to mentality, he is just as different from his family as his appearance implies. He hates everything about the Hyuga, feeling that the importance of keeping thir special eyes safe from outsiders is no excuse for treating their own kin as nothing more than animals and slaves. His brother, Jiten, is the one exception, as he knows his brother feels the same way as he does, though with more calm and intelligent thought than himself. It is for Jiten alone that he abides by his duty as a member of the Branch family to protect his brother with his life, knowing that if he wants to live or see the clans ways changed, he would need his brother to handle it with the power and skill he possessed, as well as his influence as a Main family member. His passionate refusal to be affiliated with the clan has even led him to deny being a Hyuga, admitting no relation to them other than being Jitens brother, living by his first name alone. Even that is not as it was, having long since abandoned his birth name of Airisu, removing the first and last letters to give himself a new name free of the beginning and end of the final roots tying him to the clan; the name given to him at birth by his parents.
Fourteen year old male | Genin of Konohagakure no Sato | Twin brother to Hyuga Jiten | Branch House member of the Hyuga clan | Elemental chakra nature of Fuuton |
It was only shortly over a decade ago that a pair of twins within the most protected and tradition following clans in Konoha would give birth to a pair of fraternal twins. Though while most sibling relationships bound two together with love and similar minds, this one would do the opposite, pushing two apart from views on life that neither would be able to understand from the other. One one fateful day that seemed to prove the blossoming power and family strength of the single oldest clan, two expecting mothers would give birth on the same day. It had to be fate, as coincidence wasn’t so strong as to cause both families to give birth to twins, a set of boys by one and two girls by the other. This added an even four new members to the Hyuga clan, a strong sign of future prosperity.
As expected, the babies grew older and were separated by labels based on who was born first. Jiten, the first born, would enter into the Main House, while his brother, Iris, would forever be slave to the title of Branch House. Only a few minutes between their births would ensure that Iris would get the short straw in every decision for the rest of their lives, forced to suffer and protect rather than strive and grow. From the time they could walk, they would fight constantly, though never with anger, but out of fun of battle. This would come naturally as training that would fuel their experience for life later on, though as far as they were concerned, it was nothing more than harmless entertainment. However, there were times when the two siblings would be separated while Jiten would receive training that only the Head Branch did, learning techniques that would never be shared to the lower and less important house. It was during this time that Iris would train himself in ways, knowing that he would never be able to match the Main house in pure techniques, he instead taught himself in ways that no other members of the clan did. Even as a child he was determined to always be equal to his brother in strength, though surpassing him was always a goal, this only served to bounce them back and forth over who was strongest, making them both always grow.
The two would continue spending every waking minute training in one way or another, be it merely having fun and enjoying sibling life together playfully fighting, or pushing themselves whenever they were separated to ensure they were making the best use of their time. As they grew, Iris' views on the clan, and the world, began to change for the worse, becoming darker and darker. He hated everything about his family and his clan for following such inhumane and evil practices, forcing children to be little more than slaves and meat shields based on things that could not be controlled. He hated his village for allowing such things to go on while never even giving a second glance at what was happening. As Iris aged, he grew to hate everyone, that was, everyone except for his brother. Although he hated the Main House more than anything he could ever imagine, his brother was unlike all the rest. Not only did Jiten hate the idea of segregating the clan and treating the Branch House like animals, but he even felt guilty that he was the one born first, cursing his brother to the Branch life. Knowing his brother was on his side and would never betray him, Iris looked at Jiten as the single person on this earth that he could trust. It was from then on that he took his "duty" of protecting his Main House counterpart with his life.
At the age of seven, one of Iris' many lonely training sessions came to fruition, his constant training for a single purpose being realized as his Byakugan was activated. Although he wished to cheer and gloat, his joy was immediately suppressed by his hatred of life, and rather than being proud, he hid it beneath a cloth blindfold. He would wear it every minute of every day from that point on, keeping his Byakugan active beneath it for as long as his chakra supply and stamina would allow. This would slowly build up how easily he could use it, as well as improving his skill with it, demanding he use its powers just to see through the dark fabric. Whenever he was questioned or confronted, or saw someone else activate their own Byakugan, he would deactivate his and tell them it was because he could not stand seeing the racism take place before his eyes. Iris was sure if they anyone discovered his activation of the eye, he would be deemed a threat and killed, allowing only his brother to find out. The secret would be kept for many years, never telling a soul even as they entered the ninja academy, though new issues would arise for the brothers.
Upon entering the academy, the brothers would meet up with half the reason they were nearly considered famous within the clan, the twin sisters born on the same day as themselves. It was obvious within moments of their introduction that Jiten had fallen head over heels for one of the girls, unfortunately for them all however, it was the girl from the Branch family that caught his sights. The two were in love, but the vast differences and strict rules would forbid their love, so they kept they feelings a secret. To make the entire situation even more comedically full of drama, the sister within the Main family developed a strong crush toward Iris, convinced they were soul mates and that he only denied her of his love to protect her from their family. However, Iris kept his feelings a secret not to recreate a tale of Romeo and Juliet, but because he knew that he would be murdered if anyone found out just how much he hated them all, especially those that got to enjoy the freedom of life without the cursed seals that would be their doom.
The four twin Hyuga would excell in all areas of their class, expressing their skills as if each one made the other three more intelligent. The four hung out on a regular basis since their initial meeting, mostly so Jiten and the younger sister could spent time together, while the elder sister could attempt to swoon Iris, never knowing how he really felt. Jiten would continue training his skills in the Jyuken and the powerful Main House techniques that he was allowed to add to his arsenal, while Iris would begin devoting all of his time, practice, concentration and chakra into learning about Fuuinjutsu, wanting to master the extremely difficult arts due not only to their power and rarity, but to have a set of skills entirely unlike the rest of his clan. The years at the academy sped by for the skilled Hyuga children, though much to everyone's surprise, during the final test of their exams, Iris did the unexpected, doing horribly on the test. He knew his brother would get the highest scores, if only by a small fraction, so he ensured that his own scores were the worst in the class still within passing range. Many found this confusing and a sign to be worried of as not a word was spoke about it by Iris, but it was on purpose to ensure he would be placed on the same team as his brother, ensuring he would be able to protect him at all times.
Now the rank of Genin, both boys continue to train and practice nearly every minute of each day, finding strength to be better than friends, and mischief more amusing than maturity...
