Find me an opponent, I will break their body.
Show me a castle, I will shatter the foundation.
Bring me a battle, I will destroy the front lines.
But give me your heart…and I will protect it with my life.

OX/ DOTON
The GIRL... Dependable yet Hot Tempered. Intelligent while narrow-minded. Li Rin seems to have been born to set the example of those defined by the personality of the Ox. Infatuated with tales of heroes, absorbed by pride, and swooned by materialistic pursuits, Li Rin is a bright young girl who seems to use her wit more often for short sighted ambitions and glamour than applying it for any real maturity. She’s quick to anger and even quicker to pick fights, feeling obligated to flaunt the name of her clan much to her family and her peer’s dismay. Li Rin adores praise, loves the center of attention, and desires nothing more than to live in the spotlight of glory.
Despite this Li Rin’s loyalty to her friends and family is unwavering. She is a child who seeks the approval of a family line that places so much stock in the success stories of those who came before her, fortifying her ambitions to do her lineage justice and be just as respected by her peers. Though she may be reluctant to warm up to non-clan members and usually looks upon them with distain-she is merely shadowing those of her kin and those who see beyond her façade of bravado and glory seeking will find a compassionate, strong young girl who aspires to nothing but greatness and is willing to die for her loved ones.
Age 13 | Birthday November 6th | Height 4ft 0in | Weight 70lbs | Gender Female | Eyes Dark | Village Iwagakure no Sato | Country Tsuchi no Kuni | Rank/Position Genin/NA |
...and her STORY It starts with fireworks.
Like all Yun, Li Rin’s coming into the world was an event of delight and celebration, commemorated in a flurry of cheers, smiles and pyrotechnics as her parents felt blessed to welcome their daughter into their house. Li Rin, named after a long passed hero of the clan, after the song and dance simmered down and the elders of the clan could baptize her in ritual her affinity brought about the sign of the Ox. Stalwart, dignified, triumphant all traits of her parents and the hero she was named after, Li Rin had the makings of being someone great, carrying the hopes, expectations, and principles of her honored people. Even in the eyes of Yun Tsao, the clan leader at the time smiled upon the girl, prophesying that Li Rin would grow into an example of the Yun all would strive to be in the future. Although the gesture was many a courtesy offered to any newborn in the house, Li Rin upon discovering this would live her life to achieve that prediction.
Growing up Li Rin had the finest tutors and scholars for her education that all Yun had access to. A weak Yun is a useless one in the eyes of her clan and thus Li Rin was tested from ground up in the martial skills of her clan, the intricacies of their sealing jutsu, and the gifts brought about them by her bloodline. She proceeded to learn the arts, music, and history of the world to a religious dedication and was raised in the clan’s dogma till that was all she knew. Even though being brought up in a clan of prestige, Li Rin was forfeit the same joys and experiences her non-clan peers indulged upon every day while clan ideals and skills were hammered into the fabric of her petite frame. She made no friends outside the clan, only rivals, people to be sought out, conquered and the measurement of her power tested to achieve a new plateau of skill.
The academy life was hardly a joyful or memorable experience. The responsibility of being a Yun demanded that she perform above and beyond her peers or the expectations of her instructors. Friendships only became distractions, weights that held back her progress to excellence. In the class, everyone else saw Li Rin for what house she came from and not the quality of her character. Either she was outright avoided, loathed, or challenged on a routine basis, Li Rin could only find peace within the walled district of her clan. There she would offer prayers to her ancestors for guidance and loose herself in the dances performed in the clan dojo’s.
Border skrimishes would expose this girl to the greater tragedies of shinobi conflict. Though the Yun fought valiantly to defend home and country, Li Rin would lose her father in the first, then her mother by disease. The impact it would have on her life would be significant. Following in her family’s beliefs that their loved ones listen to stories of valor and honor from Heaven, Li Rin would make it her goal to live her life worthy of praise. She would vow that every morning she would have a story to offer to her parent’s graves, a tale that would make them proud and blessed to have her as a daughter.
Li Rin, merely going about her career as a genin, has now set her sights beyond just being a hero to the clan but as someone who can be respected throughout the village. The end of the shinobi war and the state of uncertainty in her clan has made it more urgent than ever for there to be leaders, champions to set about the right path and the future for her people. Yun Li Rin will live her life without a blemish on her honor or a tainted chapter in the story of her life…
