BIOGRAPHY: Dō was born and raised in Konohagakure no Sato. He was born with his left arm missing, so it was widely believed he would not follow in the footsteps of his family and become a shinobi. However, Dō was adamant about becoming a shinobi and was allowed to join the Ninja Academy. While he could not do much in the way of ninjutsu, Dō showed extreme talent for taijutsu and tactics. He was one of the smartest students in his class. Dō graduated the Ninja Academy one year early.
He adjusted phenomenally as a shinobi and quickly took control of his Genin team. Even Dō's Jōnin Sensei was impressed with him. Dō was eventually transferred to an older Genin team that had been having trouble working together. He straightened out his new teammates with ease and became their leader. His team followed him through many successful missions, and it was no surprise that he later carried them through the Chūnin Exams.
Dō was an exceptional Chūnin. He continued to take point on missions and proved how well he could lead a team. He was put on the map for a stealing top secret information from the Hidden Rain that recognized that the Hidden Rain was conspiring against the Hidden Leaf. He was later responsible for retrieving information that confirmed a plot by the Hidden Rock against the Hidden Leaf, as well. It was because of Dō that the Hidden Leaf was not unprepared for the Second Great Shinobi War.
After Dō became an accomplished and well-known Chūnin, he was promoted to the rank of Jōnin. He served this role well, continuing to improve his reputation as a capable leader. During the war, Dō became famous during three well-known battles; the Battle of Sunshine Forest, the Battle at the Twin Rivers, and the Battle of Blood. He was also a notable figure in multiple other battles.
During the Battle of Sunshine Forest, Dō's team intercepted an advance unit from the Hidden Rock, which was being tailed by a small militia. Dō and his team stalled the advance unit and the small militia for two hours before backup arrived to help, at which point Dō was one of the few survivors left. The Hidden Leaf's victory in that battle routed the Hidden Rock's plan to ambush the Hidden Leaf behind the village walls.
At the Battle at the Twin Rivers, Dō, who had been promoted to General, coordinated a strike against the Hidden Rain. He lead the charge against the enemy just outside of the village, at a location called Twin Rivers. Dō engaged against two of the Hidden Rain's Generals and won, leading way to the victory of the battle. The Battle at the Twin Rivers was a pivotal victory for the Hidden Leaf that lead the way to the Hidden Rain's eventual defeat in the war.
The Battle of Blood was the largest battle that occurred during the war. In the final moments of the battle, Dō killed one of the Hidden Rock's top Generals and lead a massacre on the rest of his defeated opponent's troops.
He became an even more pivotal figure in the Second Great Shinobi War when the previous Jōnin Hanchō died and he was selected as the replacement. Dō was recognized as a Hero for his efforts in helping lead the Hidden Leaf to victory.
