TEAR OUT ALL YOUR TENDERNESS.
THE FABRIC OF YOUR FLESH,
PURE AS A WEDDING DRESS.
MY FINGERS CLAW YOUR SKIN,
TRY TO TEAR MY WAY IN.
DRAG MY TEETH ACROSS YOUR CHEST,
TO TASTE YOUR BLOODIED BREAST.
NOW... YOU'RE MINE,
BUT WHAT DO I DO WITH YOU BOY?
I'LL TAKE... YOUR HEART,
TO KICK AROUND AS A TOY.”

A R S E N A L
F I G H T I N G - S T Y L E· Way of the Swift (はやいどう, Hayaidō): A style of combat developed by Otoko Kanata, and now in use by the leader of the scorpions, Subori. Rather than using Body Flicker, the practitioner trains his or her body to be able to sustain high speed movement with severe weight training.
It was designed to kill opponents faster and avoid attacks that otherwise would be too fast for the practitioner to dodge. Simple punches and kicks can be augmented by use with the Way of the Swift to overwhelm the opponent. When in use, the practitioner's body seems to flicker and disappear.
Subori is so highly skilled that she can appear to be in several places at once and wipe out an entire squad of shinobi and kunoichi in moments. The full extent of her abilities remain unclear, but she has
not been seen moving at the level of a Body Flicker without actually having to utilize one.
· Rend of the Scorpion (さそりのやぶ, Sasori no Yabu): A style of combat unique to Subori. By utilizing her powerful scorpion tail, long fangs and sharp claws to her advantage, Subori plays with her opponent through quick pokes, bites and scratches to wear them down. An aggressive but playful style, strong jabs and swift swipes can provide more serious wounds.
Her tail in particular is capable of felling trees and crushing stone with one blow. The extent of her strength is unknown, but she can physically rip humans apart with relative ease. Subori can also use her great strength to increase the power of a strike with a sword. This results in extreme cutting strength.
T E C H N I Q U E S· Blood of the Scorpion (さそりのけつえん, Sasori no Kestuen): The equivalent of a bloodline limit for a summon animal, unique to the scorpion Subori. Subori's venom is a highly corrosive acidic biochemical. It can be sprayed in a mist or a thin jet stream, though is more commonly injected.
The injected venom is not oxidized from contact with the outside air, so it does not become corrosive, instead acting as a potentially lethal poison. The venom acts on the nervous system, cruelly paralyzing the unfortunate victim and making them suffer excruciating pain until they die or are treated.
The venom is so toxic that it affects even non-organic objects, with the venom spreading like a disease over everything that makes contact with it, even if not directly, and seems to kill the afflicted victims right away once the infection spreads all the way throughout the body (which seems to be at a very rapid rate).
It is very harmful to tissue in the body if it is contacted in any way, causing great pain on its own, and immense chemical burns and pain upon mere contact. The level of toxicity is so overwhelming that it may cause the unfortunate victim to dissolve.
Subori is also capable of secreting venom from her pores and envenoming her opponents through a mere, short-lasting physical touch, in both an offensive and defensive manner. Those touching or striking her bare skin are often in for a
painful surprise.
· Fusion Seal (ゆうごうふういん, Yūgō Fūin) [B-RANK]: A seal crafted by the late Otoko Kanata for Subori, the leader of the scorpions. Beginning at the ankle, the seal snakes up her left leg, coils around her neck, and snakes down her right arm to the wrist.
It was designed to seal the body and mind of one creature into another, in this case a small scorpion inside of an adult woman. The intruding creature gains total control of the body, while the mind of the host creature is rendered comatose.
· Seal of the Scorpion Tail (ふういんのさそりしっぽ, Fūin no Sasori Shippo) [B-RANK]: A special seal crafted by the former leader of Hidden Grass, Otoko Kanata, for his successor, Subori. The seal is designed to allow some of Subori's scorpion anatomy to bleed through the Fusion Seal. For this particular seal, it is her
tail.
Subori has a segmented, barb-tipped prehensile tail. The
lengthy scorpion-like barb allows Subori to sting others to inject a powerful scorpion venom, which is strong enough to melt through rock and kill anyone with the effect of a single slash or stab.
Subori's prehensile carapace-covered tail is shown to be durable and quick enough to deflect a numerous sword blows, leaving her completely unharmed. The barb is said to be
especially durable. The last segment can also serve at times as a hefty improvised mace-like weapon of sorts.
The strength of the tail is very great, having been shown to be strong enough to impale and lift horse-sized creatures with no apparent effort. Her strong tail is able to crack the ground when slammed or choke opponents to death and suspend them in the air with its grip. Subori's tail is her strongest appendage.
The tail is also much faster because of its segmentation. She can therefore perform attacks with her tail that an opponent can not readily predict, as opposed to potential physical tells that would allow a trained combatant to see a punch or kick coming.
Subori's carapace-covered tail has an engorged, biomechanical appearance and possess both an endoskeleton and an exoskeleton which is usually depicted in muted shades of black and blue.
· Seal of the Scorpion Fangs (ふういんのさそりきば, Fūin no Sasori Kiba) [C-RANK]: A special seal crafted by the former leader of Hidden Grass, Otoko Kanata, for his successor, Subori. The seal is designed to allow some of Subori's scorpion anatomy to bleed through the Fusion Seal. For this particular seal, it is her
fangs.
Subori's human canine teeth are covered in a carapace shell tougher than normal human bone, forming spider-like fangs. They are strong enough to penetrate any normal fabric, even leather, to deliver a painful dose of fatal venom.
· Seal of the Scorpion Claws (ふういんのさそりつめ, Fūin no Sasori Tsume) [D-RANK]: A special seal crafted by the former leader of Hidden Grass, Otoko Kanata, for his successor, Subori. The seal is designed to allow some of Subori's scorpion anatomy to bleed through the Fusion Seal. For this particular seal, it is her
claws.
Subori's human fingernails are a covered by a carapace shell naturally sharp and tougher than normal human bone, allowing her to cut through most types of flesh and natural materials. With these claws, she can pierce through at
least wood. This allows for impressive face-punchery when dealing with an opponent.
· Seal of the Snake Eye (ふういんのへびめ, Fūin no Hebi Me) [D-RANK]: A seal crafted by Otoko Kanata, for his summon animal and partner Subori, the leader of the scorpions. The seal is designed to allow Subori to utilize the snake eye implanted in her skull. The eye was gained from a powerful summon animal encountered and defeated by Subori and her partner.
Normally the eye is covered by a patch to avoid unintentional exposure, the eye possesses a natural ability to petrify the focus of its sight. The petrifaction can be blocked if the target is obscured from Subori's line of sight.
Spreading at an incredible rate upon exposure to the eye, the petrifaction of an organic victim turns them into a crude state similar to stone. However, the petrification is merely limited to the utmost layer of skin, forming a shell which may be broken open before the victim suffocates to save them.
· Scorpion Den (さそりあな, Sasori Ana) [C-RANK]: A space-time technique crafted by the scorpion boss, Subori. Scorpion Den transports Subori and any object or creature in contact with her skin back to the home of the scorpions.
Once there, she can chose to unsummon that which she brought with her, herself included, instantly transporting the person or object back to where they came from. Otherwise, they are trapped there and susceptible to harm from the multitude of scorpions.
The den itself is massive and poorly lit. It consists of a gigantic chamber containing scorpions of various size and shape. Branching off from the primary chamber are tunnels leading into a cave system containing other chambers as well as routes to the homes of other summon animals.
· Venomous Strand (どくいと, Dokuito) [C-RANK]: A technique used by the leader of the scorpions, Subori. Subori utilizes the water element to form a thin whip-like strand of her corrosive venom from her fingertips. The venom can chemically burn flesh, and eat through wood or stone. The whip functions in the normal fashion, allowing Subori to whip the crap out of unruly idiots.
· Venomous Fling (どくなげ, Dokunage) [D-RANK]: A technique used by the leader of the scorpions, Subori. Subori utilizes the water element to spray her corrosive venom from her tail, which can burn flesh and other materials.
· Venomous Bullet (どくだん, Dokudan) [D-RANK]: A technique used by the leader of the scorpions, Subori. Subori utilizes the water element to spit a ball of her corrosive venom at her opponent. The corrosive nature of the venom causes it to eat through most materials, such as paper or wood, even stone.
· Venomous Haze (どくもや, Dokumoya) [C-RANK]: A technique used by the leader of the scorpions, Subori. Subori utilizes the water element to breathe out a dense fog of corrosive venom. The visibility within the venomous fog is so low that any maneuvering is difficult without some form of enhanced senses.
· Venomous Destruction of Life (どくせっしょう, Dokusesshō) [S-RANK]: A
forbidden technique used by the leader of the scorpions, Subori. Subori utilizes the water element to craft a mass of her highly corrosive venom condensed into an orb small enough to hold in the palm of her hand.
To balance the enormous amount of deadly venom within her body, Subori must release a large amount encased in an orb each year. Former village head, Otoko Kanata, exaggerated that this technique is potent enough to destroy all of the Land of Grass.
Left exposed to the open air, the orb will eventually burst, supposedly with enough venom to wipe out an entire village district. It creates a very large cloud of corrosive venom, usually fatal to those without protection against it.
Subori falsely claims that she could destroy an entire village with one orb, and uses it sparingly. In order to spare Hidden Grass, she buries the orb each year to prevent it from bursting.
· Afterimage (ざんぞう, Zanzō) [D-RANK]: A martial arts technique of the Way of the Swift style of combat, in which the practitioner moves so quickly that an image is left behind.
Subori is able to perform a "Multiple Afterimages" (ざんぞう, Tajū Zanzō) technique, from which she can dart around her opponent, leaving a multitude of afterimages of herself. As she sustains this, it is hard to tell which one is the real Subori.
· Afterimage Power Flicker (ざんぞうしゅんりき, Zanzō Shunriki) [C-RANK]: A martial arts technique of the Way of the Swift style of combat derived from the original Afterimage technique. Afterimage Power Flicker is described as a form of extreme speed movement, in which the distance traveled is far greater than the original Afterimage or Body Flicker can attain.
· Instant Afterimage (ざんぞうしゅんかん, Zanzō Shunkan) [C-RANK]: A martial arts technique of the Way of the Swift style of combat, derived from the original Afterimage technique. The practitioner uses Instant Afterimage to change locations and deliver an attack from a closer range (even point blank) or simply get a better vantage point on the opponent.
· Momentum Drag (うんどうりょうひく, Undōryōhiku) [B-RANK]: A signature martial arts technique of the Way of the Swift style of combat. The practitioner forms a dangerous high speed movement which disturbs the air around them as they move, pulling objects with them as they move along, to be sent hurtling past the practitioner when the come to a halt.
A high speed movement technique which surpasses the Afterimage technique, Momentum Drag is a double-edged sword. If the practitioner cannot dodge the items collected from their travel, they can be injured by Momentum Drag themselves.
· Sting (さす, Sasu) [D-RANK]: A technique of the Way of the Swift style of combat, wholly unique to the leader of the scorpions, Subori. With her venomous stinger, Subori swiftly attacks that which threatens to harm her, attempting to do so quickly enough so as to prevent the unfortunate opponent from saving the offending limb or pulling back their weapon.
· Snakebite (へびかむ, Hebikamu) [B-RANK]: A technique requiring the use of the Snake Sword, wielded by the leader of Hidden Grass, Subori. Subori will perform multiple blade movements with the flick of a wrist, which take place so fast that they can literally shred a target into pieces in seemingly one long-range strike with a quick flash of steel that mimics a lightning bolt.
· Scorpion Collision (さそりしょうとつ, Sasori Shōtotsu) [B-RANK]: A martial arts technique of the Rend of the Scorpion style of combat. The practitioner will utilize a high-strength forehand or backhand slap (sometime a punch) to send the opponent into the sky, arcing and shooting a great distance away.
The technique can potentially end any conflict, creating so much distance between the practitioner and their opponent that the opponent cannot locate the practitioner after recovering.
· Iron Finger (てつゆび, Tetsuyubi) [D-RANK]: A martial arts technique of the Rend of the Scorpion style of combat. It is known to be a particularly lethal technique which uses one finger to punch through the muscle and directly strike the internal organs, particularly the vulnerable liver.
· Constriction Tail (きょうさくしっぽ, Kyōsakushippo) [C-RANK]: A martial arts technique of the Rend of the Scorpion style of combat, wholly unique to boss summon Subori. Using her tremendous strength, Subori snatches up an opponent with her tail and proceeds to crush them. This can easily result in broken bones and severely damaged organs, even death.
· Tail and Hardship (しっぽく, Shippoku) [C-RANK]: A martial arts technique of the Rend of the Scorpion style of combat, wholly unique to boss summon Subori. Using her tremendous strength, Subori slams her heavy tail into a person or object, or even the ground. The impact causes massive damage, capable of shattering stone and badly breaking bones.
I N V E N T O R Y· Snake Blade (とう, Hebitō): A blade originally belonging to Sadaku Goein, now in the possession of Subori, who claimed it as her own after being sealed inside of her. The sword has one edged blade which is pitched forward towards the point, the edge being concave on the lower part of the sword, but convex on top.
This shape distributes the weight in such a way that the sword is capable of delivering a blow with the momentum of an axe, while maintaining the cutting edge of a sword. The hilt is hook-shaped, the end stylized in the shape of a lightning bolt.
The sword possesses several dozen hidden blades held together at each end by pins. When deployed or swung, these blades zig-zag back and forth with a flash of steel as they move forward, resembling the movements of a strike of lightning.
When deployed, the Snake Blade unravels to such lengths that Subori can attack enemies out of reach and keep them at a distance simultaneously, or entangle her opponents or objects. Such entanglements could easily be untangled by Subori with a flick of her wrist.
The lightning-quick shifting of the sword's movements make most strikes extremely difficult to predict. Subori is even able to rapidly and very precisely change the sword's trajectory mid-strike by simply jerking her wrist in any direction.
Subori is able to maneuver the blades into an angle perpendicular to the sword hilt to ensnare her opponents with the blades and then dismember them cleanly with a flick of the wrist, and yet still maintain enough speed and force to cut metal.
Despite being swift and unpredictable in Subori's hands, the Snake Blade could still be dodged by faster opponents, and when countered with strong enough blows, the sword's path could be diverted from its target.
Furthermore, the sword is all but useless in close-quarters combat, so whenever opponents come too close, Subori is unable to counter with the Snake Blade without first putting distance between her and her opponent.
O V E R V I E W
A P P E A R A N C E· Subori is almost completely human in appearance, appearing as an attractive woman with blue-green hair, a large bust and a curvaceous body. Her long and thick scorpion tail and snake-like eye are the only physical indications of her true nature. She also has pronounced claws for fingernails, and fangs in place of canine teeth on her upper and lower jaw.
She wears an eye patch over her left eye.
D I S P O S I T I O N· Subori is one of the most dangerous women in the Land of Grass, yet she is also humane and possesses warmth, kindness, mercy, and an almost
familial love for those in her village. Subori can be a very kind and compassionate person. She does not like bullies, and will instantly take up for an underdog. She stands up for those who can't stand up for themselves.
Unlike a number of her fellow shinobi and kunoichi, she holds little contempt for others. She is tolerant of the foulest mouth, the most despicable person. It takes a great deal to enrage her or give her a reason to be afraid. She is always calm. She looks for the good in people, and makes every attempt to relate to someone and understand them. She is
mostly without hostility, unless sufficiently provoked into action. Even then, she often strives to give every opportunity to end conflict.
She is tremendously vain, though she hides it fairly well. She is undoubtedly vastly more beautiful than the average woman, but may at times exaggerate with claims of being the most beautiful woman alive. She goes to great lengths to maintain and perfect her appearance. She cannot
stand others viewing her as ugly.
She is adept at using social influence and psychological manipulation to her advantage. She has strong public relations skills, and is even capable of crowd control and manipulation. She is best described as morally ambiguous, in that she can be as good or bad as the situation requires her to be.
Subori is a practiced liar, very crafty and cunning. She is a very manipulative and calculating person. She is discreetly self-absorbed, and anything she says or does is likely to be for her own benefit or survival. She can be very secretive and deceptive, but is just as likely to tell the truth if it would help her.
Her words contain a flavor of honey, a tender and sultry voice rarely dripping with venom, though
never laced with hostility. She has a flare for the dramatic and often speaks seductively, with a hauntingly beautiful voice. She rarely raises her voice in anger, but when she does, it is dark and ominous.
She is hedonistic to an extent. She loves to dance, and once in a blue moon... to sing. She loves perfume and pleasing fragrances, oils and lotions. She is an easy drunk, but an alert one, with a penchant for wine. She loves fine dining and luxury goods.
Subori has a flair for romance, expressing intimacy even with strangers. Her flirtatiousness is often thinly-veiled, due in some part to her prideful nature. She is very forward with the men or women she likes, often promiscuous and suggestive. If she feels comfortable and relatively safe, she goes as far as to invade the personal space of the target of her desires. Then again, few actually
object to her leaning against them, clinging to their arm or wrapping her arms around their neck.
She is ruled by her emotions, driven by instinct and desire despite possessing
insane self-control over a bestial lust for blood. As she might put it, she would rather
kiss and not
bite.
O R I G I N· Subori (すぼり, Subori) is the recognized leader of Hidden Grass as well as the leader of
scorpions. Referred to as "Honorable Lady Subori" (すぼりごぜん, Subori-gozen) by members of her village (except for the former Village Head, her master Otoko Kanata).
Originally the personal summon animal of Kanata, she was a small and precious scorpion kept hidden in his clothing. Few knew of her existence, and those that did knew nothing about her. She was assumed to be merely a normal pet scorpion.
Kanata grew up with Subori as his personal summon, viewing her as more of a close friend than anything else. Already of significant age when he acquired her, Kanata would unfortunately discover in his late twenties (around the time he was made Village Head) that Subori was dying of old age.
Around this time, his chief adviser Sadaku Goein turned on him and began to plan a coup in secret. In his office one morning, Goein boasted to the pitiful scorpion about her plan while Kanata was out of the room. Unfortunately for her, this provoked Subori into stinging her on the hand when she wasn't looking.
Returning to his office, Kanata discovered the prone chief adviser on his floor and was immediately informed of her intentions by an infuriated Subori. A lonely woman loathed by many, a traitor to her village, she was the perfect candidate for a sealing technique Kanata had been working on.
Kanata impulsively chose to seal Subori inside the woman's body in order to prolong her life (an act for which Subori greatly chastised him later). It took Subori several hours for her to adjust to the human body after her venom wore off.
In the span of a few years, Subori would get accustomed to the body and request more sealing marks to be applied to it (in particular to restore her scorpion traits). It did not take long for Kanata, as he applied seals and helped Subori master several techniques of her own, to fall deeply in love.
Subori did not know what to think, at first. She would soon be worn down and come to love him as well. They were happy, for a time. Hidden Grass grew to respect and admire her, such that none were opposed when she was later named his successor.
His illness and death came as a shock to the village, and was a great tragedy for Subori. In a private and loving embrace, she stung him accidentally with her tail when he proposed to her.
No amount of treatment could save him from Subori's venom, as Hidden Grass did not have the proper resources at the time. He spent several days in the hospital, deteriorating at a slow pace. The fatal venom was blamed on the "pet scorpion" he once had, so as to keep Subori safe and prevent her from being blamed.
Kanata's love for Subori was so great that his last act as Village Head was to name Subori his successor. Announcing it to the village, he claimed his only regret was not being able to call her his wife. A mournful Hidden Grass welcomed Subori as their leader.
It has been only a few years since then.
