[ Uchiha Hagane ]Kuzuri's father, who was once a skilled shinobi that completed several important missions in his time as an ANBU, has placed an almost unrealistic burden on his son to do well and raise his personal status in the clan, due to his downward spiral of depression.
He has since retired from being a shinobi, now drinking away his days.
The reason for this depression being that his wife, Kuzuri's mother, died during childbirth, and those complications led to Kuzuri suffering a form of physical frailty, to which Hagane turned to drinking to cope with his emotions and self-loathing. As such, he has treated his son with contempt in the past, often blaming the boy for his mother's death; but, on other occasions, when the drinking isn't as bad, he admits his faults and asks for forgiveness.
[ Uchiha Ichiren ]Kuzuri's estranged older brother. Being almost ten years older than his sibling, Ichiren never really had much to do with Kuzuri, having moved into his own apartment at a young age - likely to escape their father's drinking. Yet, during the war Ichiren had become a Jōnin, serving the Hidden Leaf village by fighting enemy shinobi, and he was skilled for his age. Unlike his sibling, Ichiren had mastered his Sharingan, had completed his right of passage, and was a fierce Taijutsu/Ninjutsu user - he preferred to get close to his enemies.
Toward the end of the Second Great Shinobi War, Ichiren's squad was ambushed and all members killed. He is now assumed dead, having not returned to the village.
Kuzuri is a young boy that stands at five foot, weighing in at around seventy pounds. He has a compact frame, giving an indication of how quick and agile he is, but due to his frail body he has little strength or endurance. Like most Uchiha, Kuzuri has dark black hair, black eyes and usually has a scowl of concentration on his features.
His everyday clothing typically comprises of a blue jacket with light gray trimming, a blue shirt, black gloves and bandages up his forearms for protection. The location of his Hitai-ate is on the back of his jacket, stitched into the material, while his forehead protector doubles as a belt buckle. For his lower body he has white/gray pants, complete with several pouches, one being strapped to his right thigh, as well as dark navy shinobi boots.
Having been born an Uchiha, Kuzuri seems to have become burdened with more than his share of problems, and at times he can allow this to overcome him. He generally tries to remain upbeat and pleasant, but even he can't deny that there is a darker part inside of him. Being the only son of Uchiha Hagane, a somewhat lacking shinobi for the Hidden Leaf, has meant that a lot of pressure has been put onto Kuzuri to perform well and attempt to bring his father higher status in the clan.
Kuzuri tends to trust people once they have proven they are worthy of such trust; and those who have him as a friend can expect nothing less than complete loyalty, protection and care. Usually easy going, he is prone to wanting solitude every-so-often. When these moments are upon him, Kuzuri finds comfort in being alone and being able to focus on his own thoughts; he can be very introspective, and some times can become caught up in his own thoughts.
Since he could remember, Kuzuri has always had his own moral code that he follows. He knows right from wrong, trying to remain as lawful as he can, but even he doesn't delude himself into believing he will remain untainted by the life of a shinobi. He knows he has to kill one day, and when that day comes Kuzuri will truly feel the full brunt of his lifestyle and future.
Kuzuri has developed a quiet disdain for intimidating personalities, especially those who try to impose themselves on him without first earning his respect. Granted Kuzrui will listen to those he holds in regard, but for those few who simply like to throw their weight around [like bully students], they might find Kuzuri quite troublesome to handle when he stands up for himself or those he cares about.
Despite the bitterness his father often shows him when drunk, Kuzuri still feels love for the man. He knows that it couldn't have been easy losing the woman you loved, and in those moments when father and son have actually gotten along, there has been a bond present; so, even though his father treats him badly at times, Kuzuri still tries to earn Hagane's respect and approval, wanting to please him - perhaps in an attempt to try and make some of the pain of losing his wife easier to bear.
Though he didn't know his brother very well, Ichiren, Kuzuri still feels sadness for his death. He only spent a number of years with the older Uchiha, and they weren't overly fond, but he was still a sibling and a loss is still a loss.
Kuzuri also hates his body, being as frail as it is, and often wishes he was someone else, so he could at least run the length of the village without feeling as though his heart was going to give out, or he was going to faint from exhaustion.
Born an Uchiha, Kuzuri has had a label placed over his head since birth. The clan has always had shinobi that have shown great promises, with more than a few being considered true geniuses. While skilled in his own right, Kuzuri has struggled to uphold his family reputation, often feeling he was the only reason his father wasn't removed from the clan, what with his 'problem'.
Uchiha Hagane, Kuzuri's father, was once a skilled shinobi, but following the death of his wife during childbirth, and his son's frailty as a result of those complications, he fell into a depression and started drinking. Despite his training, Hagane couldn't deny the pain he felt and turned to the bottle in order to reach a blissful lethargy that helped ease the hurt. Unfortunately, after he had reached his stupor he often was verbally violent toward his son - the one he blamed for the curse on his life.
This state was what caused Ichiren, the eldest brother, to leave home and seek his own life away from his family. As a consequence, he never really got to know his younger sibling, and Kuzuri knew almost nothing about Ichiren by the time news arrived of his squad being attacked during the war.
Ichiren was never seen again.
Yet, growing up in a proud clan was difficult, especially given his father's actions and how the Uchiha leaders were likely to outcast both him and his son to save themselves the shame. Were it not for Kuzuri's efforts through the Ninja Academy, and his brother's service during the war, he was sure that his family would have been kicked out of the Uchiha clan by now; and it's through this determination, no matter how daunting, that Kuzuri tries to bring honor back to his father's name.
As it was, Kuzuri was achieving high scores in his Genjutsu classes, showing he was very skilled, even if he couldn't quite reach the same levels in other classes as some of the other Uchiha students - especially Taijutsu, which he was almost failing. Yet, if it was one thing that impressed his instructors, it was that Uchiha Kuzuri was determined and had the mental focus to complete whatever he set out to do.
Once he had completed his Ninja Academy studies, Kuzuri was given the Genin rank. Yet, despite being twelve and having done well, he still has yet to activate his Sharingan - much to his own annoyance, as he knows of Uchiha shinobi who have done so long before his age, and having mastered it by now.
Yet, Kuzuri knows that this fact is both a blessing and a curse; the former being that he has not had to be in a situation to unlock it, with the latter being that he cannot unlock his full potential without it. In truth, the anticipation of the Sharingan scares Kuzuri, because he doesn't want to consider the situation where he nearly dies.
Kuzuri has also to complete his right of passage into the Uchiha clan, his body making it difficult to complete the Grand fireball technique, which is the signature technique of the Uchiha, allowing him to be acknowledged as a true member of the clan.
Until then, life continues, and Kuzuri does the best he can with the skills he has. Being put onto a team after his graduation, Kuzuri began his training under a sensei; he was couldn't deny his excitement and looks forward to doing his part for the Uchiha clan and the Hidden Leaf village...
