PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION:
Despite Bankou's age, his body is still young and able, due to his long career as a shinobi. He's also beat down, a veteran, his body scarred by countless battle wounds. He is a tall, tan man, standing at 6'4, he towers over the majority of his colleagues. Weighing in at 177.2lbs he is often bigger than most as well. His hair is long and dark coloured, covering much of his face, but is restrained by a headband that replaced his hitae-ate. He wears a long, crimson cloak, made from a fine, durable material. His vest is dyed black, and carries equipment and scrolls in its pouches. He also wears a white mask across his face and white fur all around from his head to across his shoulders.
MENTALITY:
[Strategist]
A very determined and courageous man, never allowing another to get the best of him with cheap trickery and false words. In dire situations, he is able to recover from panic quickly and often keeps a level head, retaining a keen observation of his predicament, able to out-wit or out-maneuver his opponent through his careful thinking. Being able to plan further ahead than his enemy is a featured trait of this man, using his resources and skills to formulate easy and quick plans of attack and defense.
[Mild-Insanity]
Bankou, after losing much of his life to the deaths of his family, and the disappearance of his brother, he has broken down several times. He is an unstable wreck, which often conflicts with his ability to reason and it is not rare to see him lash out in aggression before he attempts a peaceful resolution. He can often be seen conversing with himself, instead of partaking in a conversation with another. The things that run through his mind can only be wondered.
[Merciless]
This man feeds off of the fear of others, enjoying the deep glare into their eyes while he delivers the final blow, and sends them into the afterlife. Whether it be a civilian or a shinobi, or even a samurai, no man is deemed worthy enough to live, after defeat on the field of battle. Thus, he will not think differently before killing another, despite their rank in society. Even innocents are within the jurisdiction of this madmans sick, cruel acts.
BIOGRAPHY:
Bankou, a troubled man with a life filled with depression and anger, was once like many others of his kind. A disturbed little boy, whos parents died at a young age, forcing him and his younger sibling to be thrown into the care of his village. He was an orphan, adopted quickly into a poor couples family because of an inability to have babies the natural way. Bankou and his younger brother Inoru were treated as highest priority, but the sadness never went away. Their parents had been killed, both on the same mission. That was something the both of them would never forget for the rest of their lives, and shape their futures for the worst.
Bankou, the older of the two, was the first to enter the academy after pleading to his adoptive mother and father for several weeks. If they had said yes any later, he probably would have had to wait another year because the classes would have begun. Bankou was a very slow learner due to his state of mind. His thoughts would often take him into other places, and he would zone out in the middle of teachings, making him the target of his teacher's wrath and he was often made the example for his peers. It set him apart from the other students, thinking he was a trouble-maker, someone who didn't take it seriously, when all he was was a lost boy, unable to find leverage to place his life back on track.
The years went by, and soon his younger brother entered the academy as well. By this point, Bankou was beginning to grow, and he began to fit in better with the other children. He was determined to become great, and he would not allow his "illness" to deter him. At this young age, he became very fond of puppets and dolls. They were the only thing that seemed to set his mind in the right, and kept him from thinking too much about the death of his parents. By the end of his time in the academy, he'd already begun creating his own miniature puppet. It wasn't deadly, but he managed to make it work manually, having not been taught the Kugutsu technique. It would shoot rocks and pieces of paper at other people, and it also got him into a lot of trouble.
He was also noticed.
Bankou was assigned to a Jonin with the same interests as he did: Puppets. His name was Ansatsu Omai, and he witnessed Bankou's potential for puppetry, and favored him among his genin squadron because of it. Over the next few years, Bankou and Ansatsu had established a great mentor/student relationship. They had also become great friends in the process. Bankou had surpassed Ansatsu's expectations. Puppetry was the single thing that he had a true knack for, and it kept him focused, allowed him to get on with his day without having a break down. It was his cure to life. By the end of his Genin career, he'd only constructed a single puppet by himself, and received two from his mentor, Ansatsu.
He had to let go of Ansatsu, however. Their relationship as friends would continue, but Bankou moved on as a student. Participating in his Chunin exams, he had less trouble passing than many of the other students did. His brain was simply on a higher level than most Genin of his day, being that he had personal training almost every day, instead of training in a squad with others, where the Jonin can be distracted with one or two other Genin for too long. He had been at an advantage, and he used it.
His brother, at the time he was a year into being a Chunin, became a Genin. Bankou and his younger brother had spent much time together up to the point, with Bankou somewhat of a mentor to his brother. Inoru loved the puppets as well, and when Bankou had learned of this, he gave his younger brother the one he had first created, when he was a Genin. It meant a lot to Inoru, as he cherished it and would keep it in mint condition for the years to come, even going as far as to reconstruct it to look exactly like Bankou.
Bankou was honored to have such a wonderful sibling, and even in his later years, created a puppet that looks exactly like his younger brother, which he has never used, but simply kept because it reminded him of his younger brother.
As time passed and Bankou came up with new ideas and new puppets, his adoptive parents soon passed away, and it struck him like a match. After their funeral, he wasn't the same. He'd gone back to being the quiet, lonely boy that he was back when he was in the academy. He wasn't a boy this time, however. He went rampant, destroying many of the things he'd created, even going as far as to almost burn down his own home in a rage. If it weren't for Inoru, he would have done it.
The times leading up to the point had already been tough, laying down pressure upon Bankou. It would become even harder on him with the start of the Second War, in which he participated in full, combating the Sand's enemy, Konahagakure. For his verocity and tactic in battle, he gained a reputation amongst his fellow shinobi as a fearless and courageous soldier. Whatever his duty was, he set out to accomplish it with little mistake. However, he failed to impress the lot of Suna, having not accomplished anything too great within the war as he was wounded and hospitalized. His condition was far too severe to be sent back into the war, and by the time he fully recovered, it would be over.
For a long time, Bankou remained to himself for the remainder of his time in Sunagakure, until he received a report that one day, Inoru went completely missing on a mission and never returned. When Bankou heard this, he immediately stormed to Inoru's home, and after getting inside, the first thing he witnessed was the puppet that he'd given to Inoru when he was still a wee Genin. It had been reconstructed again, armed, and re-enforced greatly. On the front was a note. It read: "A gift from your Younger Brother. Love, Inoru."
Something in Bankou told himself that Inoru was still alive, and at that night, he'd decided to set off and find him. He packed up his scrolls, and his equipment, taking everything valuable he needed, and left without a word to anyone. After departing, he realized what had just gone through his head, and what he had just done. He was a Nukenin now, at the cost of finding his brother, it would have to be done.
Years of silence and social deprivation would lead him to be the sick, merciless man that he is now. During these years of silence, and solitude, Bankou has forgotten his old personality, calling himself "Suo En Di." Finding his brother is less than a goal. He lives more to kill, than he does to find Inoru.
