Yamazaki Kano | Samurai
蜻蛉切 | TONBOGIRI | Dragonfly Cutter
unique - offensive
Tonbogiri was wielded by the first Daimyō of Tetsu no Kuni when the land first came into formation and was gifted to the Yamazaki Family after his death. The spear tip was forged with a unique obsidian/iron ore that allows it to be infinitely sharp and maintain the same toughness as any other weapon. Chakra passes through the spear easily and it acts as a conduit for elemental recomposition.
When lightning natured chakra is channeled through it, Tonbogiri becomes the sharpest blade in existence. Then, when wind natured chakra is channeled through it, Tonbogiri cuts at a wider range normal, extending a slash to three times the length with cutting winds. The spear derives its name from the story that a dragonfly landed on its blade and was instantly cut in two.
日本号 | NIHONGO
unique - offensive
Nihongo is a kamayari. The kamayari (鎌槍, sickle spear) is similar to the jumonji yari. While it also had two protrusions shooting off the base of a main spear tip, in yari the offshoots were hooked back downward. The kamayari essentially is a yari with kama at the base of the blade to assist in hooking things. Generally the hooks are large enough to hold the head, neck or jaw (when in a tree) or to hook limbs of a swordsman on the ground, thus it is different in function in this respect from other types of yari. The kamayari was also used to hook horsemen and dismount them.
Nihongo has no special properties, but is regarded highly in Tetsu no Kuni as the most famous kamayari. It was also wielded by the first Daimyō of Tetsu no Kuni and gifted to the Yamazaki Family after his death.
御手杵 | OTEGINE
unique - offensive
Otegine is a massive spear famous for its shear size. The handle is 243cm (almost 8 feet) tall and the blade is 92cm (roughly 3 feet) long. It is difficult to wield for most individuals, but becomes an excellent weapon when handled correctly. It was wielded by the first Daimyō of Tetsu no Kuni, who is said to have intimidated his opponents to the point of retreat with Otegine. It was gifted to the Yamazaki Family after his death. Yamazaki Kano is the fourth person known to successfully wield Otegine in battle.
