Staff suggestions.
So. Reflecting back on the concerns the members and Tou conveyed in that earlier thread, the jutsu holiday, and then from my own observation of the productivity on the site has cooked up some ideas/resolutions that I thought might be worth discussing.
Let’s hit jutsu. As nice the one page holding system can be or whatever appeal it has to some/many I notice that during high volume periods, it’s rather easy to be missed or forgotten in the waves of posts that push others down to the second, third, and fourth pages. But it’s not really the volume that can be inconvenient as it can be from watching more recent jutsu be tackled(further pushing said thread further down the bottom) than earlier, assumingly because at a glance-one jutsu page doesn’t look any different from another in the long list awaiting for them at the end.
Luckily, proboards gave us a post flagging option. You know those icons you can attach rather than the generic ‘note’ next to it? Great visual aid and simple to use; merely when you post your jutsu ready to be reviewed, no matter the edits simply use the Question mark icon. Once all the jutsu in the thread are ‘done’, the staff can merely modify the post, attach the tag of a thumbs up, and you’re good to go. All other jutsu pages in waiting, whether touched on by a staff member and pending or not will be separated by an easy glance to assign a priority to.
Pages don’t get “forgotten”, things are easier to recognize, mostly everyone is happy.
There’s that or some sort of provisional staff rank.
Say what?
Yeah. I’m talking like a volunteer, a helper. They may or may not have moderator privileges and if they do it probably doesn’t go further than editing a profile or moving threads. They don’t have any real “administrative” weight when it comes to major decisions on the board, at least not any more than a member would. They’re like an assistant. Someone with the authority to say “hey, that thing in the profile needs to be edited out” or “X jutsu won’t work because of Z”. Someone with the knowledge and know-how to make those kind of decisions when necessary.
What’s that do for you? The workload on the few administrators we have drops significantly. Thus the whole tedious and mundane inter-medium between outfitting your character and role-playing is minimized by the increased pace of content checking, without squandering quality control. Members get to the role-play quicker. Staff can have more down-time to do the things they’d like or handle real-life obligations. There’s an extra person the members can turn to privately for consultation or assistance. Quite frankly, just about everyone wins.
Thoughts? Lay’em on me.

It's unnecessary in my opinion. I already know when someone's jutsu aren't checked because there isn't a blue name as the last post. As for the helper thing, I have no one to nominate (who I think would be a healthy addition and would actually want to do it) to the position although the idea is very nice.

Perhaps. Though where a specific nomination may not come to mind now(speaking on behalf of provisional help), an application/resume method to put in some holding box if a candidate needed to be selected may help. Assuming that the staff recognized the need for assistance and what particular fields(or all) required additional support.
Then again, considering that none of the upkeep jobs are notoriously difficult, at least to the point that practical intelligence and literacy don't account for more than half the skills necessary to do the jobs accurately, then anyone can pretty much be 'coached' into the position-provided they had the enthusiasm.
