Height: 5’9 Weight: 220 lbs Hair Color: Pink Lightish Red Eye Color: Brown Blood Type: A
MENTALITY:
Ryôshi is a man who lives by his own rules. A snide and carefree individual, he rarely hesitates to say whatever is on his mind, despite who is around or what it might lead to. Usually coming off as impolite, especially to his superiors, his rather flamboyant attitude has caused his higher-ups a certain amount of grief in their time. Some have even accused him of being incapable of telling a lie. While he denies this, it still remains to be proven otherwise.
This is not to say he is uncaring or selfish. He is very often quite the kind individual, with a high sense of morality as to what is right and wrong in the world. He just has a rather brash way of expressing himself. Still, despite the certain amount of disrespect for common etiquette that he shows, he is often rather sociable and open to those around him. To some, this is irritating.
Ryôshi has some specific nuances that at some points violate or inflame his personality. For starters, he is slightly sensitive above the color of his hair, which is a bright red color, bordering on being called “pink.” He is very defensive about this, claiming it to be red, not pink, usually without success. This has caused him to develop a grudging disparity towards anything that is the color pink, with reactions between horror and irritation at the sight of it, despite his usually low temper.
Ryôshi also has a certain fondness for dogs, although this more so stems from his distaste of cats, which he was deathly afraid of in his youth. He usually has the same reaction to cats as he would anything pink. God help anyone who introduces him to a pink cat.

BIOGRAPHY:
Gifted is not the right word for Ryôshi. Nor Prodigy, Genius, Exemplary, or anything that implies he was born with great power. He was born ordinary, into a clan where being born ordinary doomed you to a life under those who were born special. In order to understand his birth, and the true shock of Ryôshi’s existence, you must be first aware of the setting.
The Banrai have a specific Hijutsu within them, which some are naturally born with the ability to comprehend, and some are not. The latter are usually never taught the techniques of the clan at all, and are left to their own devices to develop their own shinobi techniques. In order to preserve the secrets of the clan being given away by the corpses and combat of those inadequate to use it, families were order to not teach any child who had not shown the potential for it by the age of eight. Ryôshi was one such child.
The truly surprising part of this was that both of his parents were masters of the clans techniques, making it a shock when their offspring seemed completely inept at using them. They tried to instill the mastery in him forcibly, exerting him to rigorous physical and mental training. But he showed no signs of help. Finally, they were forced by the time he reached the age of eight to give up, and resign from attempting to teach him.
It was quite the shocker then, when he showed a detailed mastery and understanding of it when he had reached the age of ten. In a sparring match with a genin, he accidentally let slip a stepping-stone technique of the hijutsu, and to top it off, explained to the startled thirteen year old the fundamentals of the technique, although a brief and inconclusive one. Still, it was enough to raise an alarm in the minds of some within the clan.
His parents were questioned as to how he had suddenly showed a surprising talent, even after they had been forbidden to teach him. They denied all such accusations, being as clueless as the rest as to when he had suddenly picked up on ‘the ability.’ Some think he had been studying on his own, some claimed foul play on the parts of his parents, but nothing conclusive had been found. The only thing that was apparent was that he was, in fact, skilled enough to receive teaching and quite a bit farther ahead then most others in the clan had been at his age.
The elders, refusing to admit their own mistake, further outlawing teaching him any of the hidden techniques. This however, did not seem to slow his growth in the slightest. Far exceeding the expectations of his clan, he proved to not only understand but exceed the limitations placed on him, developing his own way. By the time he graduated he had matched the understand of the techniques as much as the average member of the clan, although his use and mastery in combat with the aforementioned techniques were still a genin.
Before Ryôshi could be assigned to a squad, the war began. As such, he was never given a specific squad with which he participated in the wars with- At least, none that ever stayed the same over a prolonged period of time. Being moved from squad to squad due to various reasons such as death’s or injuries in the squad, a specific need for certain abilities, changes in the warfront, etc. As such, he met and cooperated with a large number of shinobi all throughout Kumo, developing a close sense of kinship with his comrades.
Before he knew it, he had been promoted to a Chunnin for his prowess and record on the battlefield, to be assigned to front-line duty. Even then, through the loss and fear of war, he excelled amongst his peers. Eventually, he was assigned to a specific squad, with a rather specific purpose. This was the end of his true front-line duty, as this squad had quite another purpose: The hunting and killing of deserters. During the war, naturally, the number of deserters in an army and country rose. Their squad was tasked to the hunting and eliminating of anyone who abandoned Kumo, so that they could not betray the secrets of the village to anyone else, and to make an example against further deserters.
His prowess in tracking and hunting made him quickly put up for promotion, as he seemed to excel beyond the others in his squad. However, his squad leader, was a fairly influential jonin, and a man who did not particularly take much to Ryôshi, often downplayed his achievements and victories. As such, he was later promoted to a Tokujō, with a specialty in tracking and hunting. Although some in his squad protested that he deserved the rank of a full Jonin, showing more than enough skill to be one, but Ryôshi himself silenced them before they could speak out against his decision, preferring to prove himself of this rank on his own.
He remained on this squad until the end of the war, where it was disbanded in favor of individual missions, or smaller squad-sized missions.
