Ranks
Jōnin [Article Here]
These are the elite shinobi of the village and act as military captains. Jōnin are typically promoted by their respective Kage in accordance with their skills and experience and usually go on missions alone, depending on their skills. They may also choose to be a sensei for a team of genin.
Because of their importance, we'll be looking for more quality in these profiles, meaning we need a good history that both tells the story of the character and contains believable accomplishments that go above and beyond the call of duty for a chūnin. Remember, they are elite, hand-picked shinobi of the village. Just training for x-amount of years won't cut it.Age: 18+ (Unless special circumstances)
Tokubetsu Jōnin [Article Here]Unlike regular Jōnin, these nin specialize in one specific field rather than being well-rounded. These fields include interrogation, torture, assassination, etc. (This does not mean you have to specialize in one jutsu aspect.) These nin are often assigned as subordinates to regular Jōnin when their specialties are needed. For these profiles, quality is expected, as well as focusing on the specific field your nin specializes in.Age: 16+
Chūnin [Article Here]These are the middle ninja in the Narutoverse and are chosen by the Chūnin Exams. They have the maturity and skills to oversee and guide lesser nin, and can choose to be academy teachers. They typically can go on C and B ranked missions, and lead specific teams.Age: 15+
Genin [Article Here]Genin are the lowest ranking in the shinobi ranks and are just beginning their careers for the village. During this time, they're formed into four-man teams consisting of three genin and a jōnin sensei to help them train and prepare for the world. They typically do low-ranking missions to do their part in the village's economy.Age: 12+
Academy Student [Article Here]These newbies to the ninja world spend their days in the village's academy to learn normal subjects, such as history and math, as well as the ideals and basics of shinobi training. Students are not allowed on any missions. To become a genin and join the ranks, students must pass a test administered by the academy, and another by their sensei. If they fail, they are to be sent back to the academy until they can pass.Age: 6+

Positions
ANBU [Article Here]
These are the elite specialists that perform high-level missions for and take orders from the Kage themselves. Hand-picked by their respective Kage for their skills, ANBU are a special ops unit and required to wear their masks at all times. Giving out village information or their identities is strictly prohibited, and should death be upon them in battle, their bodies are destroyed via the seal placed on them upon entering the ANBU to prevent village secrets from falling into the wrong hands. Because of their importance, quality for the profile will be reviewed thoroughly.Age: None Set - Kage's Discretion
Oinin [Article Here]Oinin, otherwise known as Hunter-nin, are a special division of the ANBU that hunt nukenin, and therefore follow the same guidelines are set for them. As skilled hunters, oinin are required to have an intimate knowledge of the human body for quick kills. Once their target is killed, they are required to cut off the head, cremate the body so no secrets can be obtained, and bring the head back as proof of a successful mission.Age: None Set - Kage's Discretion
Iryōnin [Article Here]These are the healers who support other nin. Iryōnin are required to be intelligent, know the human body inside and out, and have precise chakra control. They are trained to avoid taking any damage and to be able to defend themselves, rather than be offensive fighters, and focus on medical aspects. (If the team loses a medic, their chances of survival plummet.) Medics can choose to go out on field missions for support, or stay in the village as healers.Age: 15+
Nukenin [Article Here]Otherwise known as Missing-nin, Nukenin defected from their village at one point in time without intention of returning, most often because they committed a crime or to pursue personal goals. They are wanted in their villages and most often spend their time on the run. The severity of crimes and/or their skill often sets their rank and wanted status. Age: None Set
