Hayaku's father was the head of the Hyūga clan's main house, and as his first born son, that made him the heir-apparent. From the moment he took his first step, much had been expected of Hayaku. He was the spitting image of Hamaki, whose talents were legendary throughout Hi no Kuni and beyond. More than anyone, his grandfather Hirashi pressured him to surpass the achievements of his father. His high expectations, and the disdain he showed when Hayaku failed to meet them, were traumatizing. The powers of the Hyūga eye were well known across the continent, and there were many who sought the Byakugan for themselves. Members of the branch house gave their lives protecting the eyes of the main house, while their own would fade with a cursed seal to keep them out of foreign hands. But the failure of one seldom discouraged the ambitions of another, and the clan found themselves constantly under attack. Desire for their eyes brought the full force of a rival clan at their doorstep. They attacked as the Hyūga were returning from battle, hoping to take advantage of their weakened state and overwhelm them with their superior numbers. Against convention, Hamaki ordered his clansmen to flee while he held off the attacking forces. To him, his eyes would never amount to the value of their lives and he was willing to sacrifice himself so that they could live to fight another day. He was able to take out all of his attackers, though not without sustaining fatal injuries. He made it back to their home but died soon after, leaving Hayaku as the heir to the Hyūga. At the age of twelve, he was too young to lead. As the former head of the clan, Hirashi would step in until Hayaku came of age. Without Hamaki, they had lost much of their strength. It was decided that the clan would move to the newly founded Konoha where they could regroup and recover behind the shelter of their walls. Despite the loss of their leader, the Hyūga were still widely respected and came to hold a great deal of influence within the village. Hayaku was allowed to serve the village as a Genin, an attempt to showcase the strength that even their youngest members held. From then on, his arduous training intensified to a level of harshness and cruelty. From sun up til sun down, he was pushed to the very fringes of his physical limits without ever hearing a single word of encouragement from his grandfather. He was made to begin training in Senbon Sparring, an elaborate clan ritual in which he was forced to spar a thousand times in succession. His mother, Hanako, was outraged by the treatment of her son but was ultimately powerless against Hirashi's will. She, like Hayaku, came to resent him. But Hayaku's will was strong, and despite the severity of his training, his spirit never broke. He was intent on mastering the techniques of his clan and proving that he was capable of leading the Hyūga. Only then could he wrest control from his grandfather and free himself from austere methods. By the time he was thirteen years old, Hayaku had mastered Hakkeshō Kaiten and Hakke Rokujūyon Shō. Such feats were well beyond his years, and word began to spread amongst the clan of his genius. But because he his achievements were several months in excess of his father's record, Hirashi deemed them failures. The stress of his training strained his relationship with his best friend in the village, an Uchiha by the name of Naoto. He had become irritable, and his time spent with him him was limited to team missions. It would take years for the two of them to reconcile their differences. Hayaku's younger brother, Hyomaru, helped him to see the error in his judgement and he urged him to rekindle their friendship. After that point, the two grew closer than they had ever been. Hayaku rose in rank within the village, becoming a Chūnin at the age of fourteen and a Jōnin by the age of seventeen. By that point, no one in the clan could dispute his ability to lead and Hirashi was made to step down so that Hayaku could assume his rightful role as the clan's head. Despite his young age, he was widely respected and beloved by his kin. Hayaku went on to work closely under Ryuga Asahi as a member of her tactical squad, earning her trust as one of the most gifted and loyal shinobi she had ever worked with. After the death of Hashirama, she would come to rely on him heavily. |

Athletic Hayaku has always carried himself with an air of nobility, exuding poise and confidence in all of his endeavors. In his youth, he was haughty and arrogant. He believed he was destined for greatness as his birthright. Thinking himself above the common man, he loathed to interact with most of his peers. However, his outlook improved with time and maturity. His younger brother, Hyomaru, had the most positive influence on his personality. He taught him kindness, humility, and patience. Hayaku came to realize that he could determine the person he would become. He still holds a high sense of self importance, though he exhibits a greater respect towards others. Above all, Hayaku has learned to enjoy life.
