Flashback
It was a dark night, some thirteen years ago, storms raging in the mists, rain driving down over the land. It was the night of the Rokudaime Mizukage's death, the storms keyed into the passing of the harsh man. It was like the very sea and sky roiled in anger, but there was something else here, something else in the mists.
At the office of the council, the seven men were gathered, they looked roughly between the ages of fifty and sixty, seated at a table with the carving of the hidden mist insignia on it. Lighting crackled outside sending flashes of light through the window. Slowly the thunder settles and their conversation could be heard in this sealed room.
Their conversation echoing in the dark chambers, the only two in the room besides the councilmen were two members of the black ops, who was loyal to their cause. From here we fade through the mists, to other places in the village hidden in the mists. Coming to a doorway, we see four hooded figures standing before the door, rain pouring over them and dripping onto the ground in this dark night. The door slowly opens, revealing an older woman, a caretaker, with a lantern in hand.
The old woman grumbled, as the leader of this group stepped forward presenting a scroll.
The hooded ninja pointed into the house, at the younger looking Terumi Rinruri, who stood by a young man, held in a wheelchair, his head resting on his shoulder and a breathing mask in place. The young man look disigured, looked tortured, but had a smile on his face through it all. Thanks to Rinruri, he was surviving, her younger brother.
She asked, coming over and seeing the scroll. She would take it, while the four cloaked figures stood out in the rain. Opening the scroll, she read the decree, that she was to be brought to the council for immediate meeting. It sounded urgent, and from the looks of the Mei Kiri being here, it was.
She said, grabbing her cloak and hood, buttoning it up as she stepped from the warm light of the house onto into the black and wet night. She looked back to the old woman at the doorway, and then the group dissappeared in a blur.
The doors to the council chamber would open, the seven men seated as their heads turned to the doorway were a warm yellow light cast a shadow of a hooded woman dripping with water. As the doors shut behind her, she removed her hood.
She said, bowing her head and then stood back up straight. The honor of Kirigakure was a strong one, the ninja were proud and fierce. Rinruri was the same, but knew when the time to act honorably and civil was, a trait most other Kirigakure ninja lacked.
Began the head councilor, Seito.
The words of the councilors were plain and cold, no joy in their words, this was business. The first wave of news hit her like a ton of bricks though she held her composure Bakaze is dead? When did this? She thought but held her words. The silence in the room permeated, growing like a thick mists to hide the people waiting a response. Her thoughts raced now, as she tried to think of should she accept? If I accept, I can make this village better, like what Seikichi wanted...I can make sure that doesn't happen again, can make sure that we no longer are despised as the Cursed Mist... If I deny though, I doubt they will let me do that gracefully... What did Grandmother say...In dealings with the council, take their words as a kunai, always sharp and ready to kill when put in the hands of the willing. Her thoughts came about her, as she remembered her grandmother and the old womans smile. Grandmother you made this village better, made it peaceful, made it prosperous...when you were gone they destroyed your hard work...disgraced your name...and this village... but now I have a chance to save it...to bring honor back to the name of Kirigakure... To change it from this war torn village toa land where there was no fear of someone silencing you for your opinions, where a ninja could be happy and not a weapon...Grandmother give me strength.
Came one of the more impatient councillors, Dota.
Her words rang, and there was power behind them. A hidden power, of those who had courage and honor in their life, of those who served proudly. In her eyes, could be seen the strength, like a glacier holding back the heat, and maintaining its cool throughout the seasons.
Lightning outsides, and all that can be seen as the flashback ends, is Seito, grinnning.
