Character Name and Rank: Kumiho - Civilian
Item Type: Unique
Note: You don't need to add it.
· Star Ball (ほしのたま, Hoshi no Tama): Each and every kitsune carries with it a round or onion-shaped luminous jewel known as Star Ball. In some instances, a kitsune's Star Ball will glow with fox fire. When not in human form or possessing a human, a kitsune keeps the ball in its mouth or carries it on its tail.
The purpose of the Star Ball is not publicly known. One belief is that when a kitsune changes shape, its Star Ball holds a portion of its magical power. Another belief is that the ball represents the kitsune's soul; the kitsune will die if separated from it for long.
The actual purpose of the Star Ball is to contain the energy a kitsune has stolen from humans and animals in order to sustain their longevity. A kitsune separated from its Star Ball will eventually die of old age, thus its importance to the kitsune.
Those who obtain the ball may be able to extract a promise from the kitsune to help them in exchange for its return. Kitsune are known to be aggressive and vengeful toward the thieves of their Star Ball who refuse to return it.
Kumiho has used this as a formidable weapon, though in some instances it is difficult to control. The potency of the Killing Stone is such that the few powerful shinobi and kunoichi who know of it have created techniques specifically to counter it.
