The Yotsuki are an old clan that has resided within Kaminari no Kuni for ages. The clan's inception dates back to the times of old which transcend the foundation of the first ninja themselves. Back then, they were an unnamed clan. How exactly the Yotsuki came into existence is a debatable topic. In the earlier eras, it was believed that the Yotsuki were a race of men who were forged as byproducts of the Gods; a race of men who, as the legends proclaim, were able to fight for days on end without resting. The Yotsuki are true warriors, who fought along with earliest clans that reside within Kaminari no Kuni.
While other clans were known to have knowledge of various others trades outside of combat, the Yotsuki did not. They were, in the days of old, a hired clan which operated and lived off of combat. Even while untrained, it seemed that the Yotsuki possessed an nature affinity with weapons, as they could use and turn literally anything into a tool for combat; and even beyond that, even after using a weapon only once, they could learn to use it effectively and efficiently. The Yotsuki were most notorious with their skills with katana, as well as other forms of bladed-weapons.
The Yotsuki acquired many monikers in the days of old. One of the first monikers their obtained is pays homage to their old rituals that they used to perform prior to engaging in battle. Before executing their first strike, or executing their finishing trike, on an opponent, the Yotsuki would utter a thunderous "cry of victory," which they believed would summon the power they had within an lead them to victory. Sons of the Battlecry, is what they were first called. After a generation or two, the Yotsuki developed a more permanent moniker, which was later adopted as the clans surname.
The name 'Yotsuki' was given to the clan by the Daimyō who existed way back when. It was believed that, upon engaging in combat, the Yotsuki, who were believed to possess an abundant about of stamina, were able to glow in the dark by manifesting their vitality in the form of an aura that light up the nights sky in a manner reminiscent of the moon itself. Thus their name was forged, 'Yotsuki' (Trans: Night Moon, 夜月).
During the days where the great Sage of Six Path existed and taught the world the way of Ninjutsu, the Yotsuki were among the first to follow the man' teachings, as they believed that they too, were blessed in a manner similar. Therefore, were others doubted and could not grasp the concepts the Sage spoke of, the Yotsuki did not. While sticking to their strengths, the Yotsuki simply developed various ways of executing Ninjutsu with their bodies and weapons.
With the generations passing, and the eras changing, the world's adoption of the days of the ninja was a smooth transition for the Yotsuki. They were able to work along with their fellow clan, the Yoippari, who were a forger clan of blacksmith that, in those days, were rivaled by very few. Fighting together with the weapons made by the Yoippari, the Yotsuki were able to garner a spot in history that was immovable.
Once the Warring Clan Era met its' end, and the rumors of the country known as Hi no Kuni and the clans that lie therein reached to the ears of the Yotsuki clan, as well as the other clan's that reside within Kaminari no Kuni, it was propositioned by the Daimyō that they too form a ninja village. With this task given to his Senior Retainer, a man known as the Shodai Raikage, upon being invited to join the alliance that would form the village that would be known as "Kumogakure," the Yotsuki accepted the invitation.
Since the foundation of the village, the Yotsuki have simply become a loyal clan that has the village's best benefit in mind. They live to protect their village and their peers within the village. it is said that the Yotsuki will accept death before betraying their village or a clan within it. With this being said, the Yotsuki are unhappy with the current state of the village. They believe that anyone who opposes the leading families, are not to be trusted.
