Now, the only light came from the moon, extending silver wisps of light down onto the mountainside village. It was peaceful. A light breeze could be heard from inside, the occasional call of a bird flying through the range, but nothing else. Footsteps were all but absent on this night. Most laid in bed at such an hour, resting for the day to come when they would see off their Raikage who was headed to Tetsu no Kuni. But there existed one room illuminated by fire in the village. Within the room, barren of most things safe some cushions for its occupants to sit on the dim lantern in the corner, were three men and a woman. Their hair was black as the night outside and their faces hard and stern, a given granted the weight of the matters they were discussing presently. One tied his hitai-ate to his forehead so that the emblem of the Cloud reflected brightly even with the dim lighting. He ran a hand down his raven black hair and rested it upon the back of his neck, feeling the skin and the brand that lingered there. A black torii gate was tattooed to each sitting in the room. The permanent marking naming them as one of the Yorumon clan, a clan of prominence within the village. "Our actions must be swift tonight." he said as he moved his hand from his neck and looked up at his colleagues and kin. "We have one chance at this before he leaves. If it is not tonight, we'll have to wait until he returns to the village to make our next attempt." "It cannot be allowed." "Which is why I need you three to be on your guard tonight. He is surveyed around the clock so we'll need to kill his guards silently before we move into the inner chamber and take him out." "We should not deny the fact that his father is presently in the village. What is the plan for if he shows?" the woman asked, moving her hair behind her ear as she looked to their leader. "It's a risk we'll have to take. Not even his presence should be enough to stop us from our goal. Remember the planning we put into this and have faith that if he shows, we can defeat him as well. We are four and he is one." "Understood." "We should move soon. Now, in fact, before we catch the light and the gate is seen." "Before we catch light and the gate is seen." BLACKGATE: the first move The ruckus ended as swiftly as it had begun and D was immediately awoken. What had he heard? Three thuds hitting the hardwood floors at once. Perfect. Nothing simply went bump in the night in the kage's home. Something was afoot. Someone was dead. Three of his own, he would have to assume until he was sure otherwise. He scoffed as he breathed in, now feeling the cold from outside wrap its jaws around his body and bite down. He was only in boxers. What more of a noble way to fight one's assassins than in boxers. There was no time to worry however; he knew this all too well. It would become even moreso, however once the wall to the room came crumbling down and the four made their appearance known. So he was right. Three of his own were dead and these four were here to make it four. "Yoippari D." the first man's voice was filled with rasp and his colleagues seemed to revere his words, so much as to not immediately attack. D was interested in hearing what he had to say before this came to him having to kill them all. "We've come to kill you and replace you as Raikage." "All four of you? I thought there could only be one Raikage." he laughed as his eyes flooded with green. But it was too late. By the time he'd activated the Aogan, he was already flying, crashing through the sliding door that lead to his balcony. He felt the screaming pain of the skid fly up from his side before he was back on his feet, eyes locked on the woman who'd slammed him so far. Disorientation followed and before he knew it she was on him again, her fist cocked back and moving quickly for his head. Again, he found himself in in the ground, his breath coming slower and slower, more labored with each attempt. And what was this? On his back, he could feel the gravel from the sole of her sandals... digging its way in. "That was easier than I'd expected." she laughed, as her three associates approached. "It's not over yet," he grunted as he released a torrent of lighting from his back throwing the woman off her balance. It wasn't more than a few seconds before he'd grabbed her foot as she stumbled back, and then even shorter before her cries broke the silence of the night as she fell back limp onto the ground of the balcony. "I've struck her vagus nerve at the branch which regulates her heart rate. Her heart rate has begun to rapidly decrease and soon enough, she will die from the lack of circulation." he said, eyes locked on the three who'd stopped in their tracks once the woman was knocked back. "Yous can continue your assault and suffer the same fate... or you take her and hope I don't give chase." "She knew the risks when she undertook this mission. We all did, Raikage-kun." D chuckled before he released the lightning from his body once again, breaking the silence once again with the cackle of lightning. "Suit yourselves. Then all three of you will die tonight." He gathered the chakra to his fist before taking a step forward and throwing his chakra forward in a torrent of lightning that shredded the earth around the doorway. The three avoided, now cruising down on his position from the sky-- "NO SIR, AYAYAYYYYYYY!!" a man cried as he threw his foot into the gut of one. Struck by Black lightning personified, the man was thrown into the underbelly of the mountain village resulting from the kick. "We could have predicted they might choose tonight to strike, huh, boy-o?" "This is no time for jokes, otosan." "It's always time for jokes." he replied, giving his son a thumbs up as he smiled from behind his cloak of black lightning armor. |
