I've noticed a few mentions about the conflict erupting between Taki and Iwa and I'm really excited to have instigated something that can potentially evolve into a better overall storyline among the many this site fosters. However, given the delicacy of the events happening in present, I just want to add facts to points in the various threads and ones soon to come so that the setting and atmosphere is clear-as to answer all questions and snuff confusion.
I feel it was good to address this because I understand our threads were long and many hands are involved in the plotline. The outcome has yet to come to fruition and there is a lot more of a “twist” in store. You are welcome to work out involvement with your characters and respective groups, though I only ask politely that the above is taken in consideration regarding the traffic of information, how much detail or specifics would have been obtained, and how long certain parts have transpired.

-The infiltration of Taki no Kuni began months ago. Starting with Iwa's agents collaborating with criminal elements, merchant cartels, and bandits to gather information and smuggle supplies into the country. This was alluded to-then became fact by the increasing raids and criminal activity near the borders, which had traditionally been fairly uneventful. This translated into groups discreetly preparing for the uprising and securing strongholds via bargains and blackmail. IE: The Inn within the capital city being a HQ for Iwa's sleeper agents.
-Thus, in the perspective of the natives, chaos seemingly just erupted along the nation. Communication and places going “dark” in a matter of moments from one another. There wasn't a huge 'army' that invaded as much as it was the situation of your “new neighbor” down the street suddenly pulling on a Hidden Rock hitae-ate.
-Iwagakure pushed through en masse later at two major points. The upper most border of Tsuchi and Taki, and then the cornerstone avenue where the border meets Kusa. The Awaikage, Iwa's most expert infiltrators moving in days before the larger, less covert hosts. Which is why they were near the capital a whole day ahead. Many units were in mix forces though the open invasion was noted for the participation of the Yun and Kamizuru.
-Iwagakure forces were explicitly instructed not to kill, but to conquer, which offered a very distinctive handicap-ones that the Taki defense did not have. Still, they managed to secure other villages and outposts among the nation, including supply depots.
-Taki was able to resist and stall the invasion forces until the sleeper cell 'activated', holding the capital hostage and Seiichi allowed the Iwa ambassador-Sun Jian, through.
-Two days passed since Iwa held the capital of Taki no Kuni(not Takigakure) and the Tsuchikage arrived for negotiations. Currently, in a thread that is not yet finished, during the peace talks, one of Taki's own is hosting a coup with clans that migrated from other nations in a grand scheme unbeknownst to both parties.
-That said, the time line of the assault was over the course of three to four days, which is brilliantly short for any invading country, and was only possible by the Utopian factors of Takigakure still allocating forces, a grand scheme that went months in action-even longer planned, and a third party diving resources away from Taki's own defenses.
