THREE DAYS LATER
"I hope you all enjoyed your enjoyed your break," Momotaro started, looking down at the five Genin that stood before him. So this was the cream of the crop in this year's exams? Studying them each, his head shook in disappointment. He'd seen better. They all looked mediocre and below average- at least by his own personal standards, anyways. They weren't shinobi from his village, so even he had to admit that his point of view was a bit biased.
"Because this is where your real tests will begin, here in front everyone. In front of all of Kusagakure, as well as all of our visitors, and even the two Kage's who decided to grace us with their presence." He was the only thing in the way of both teams now. Having used a Kusa Bunshin so that he could talk to both teams at the same times before allowing them to take their positions and guard their assigned flag pole.
"It starts now." He told them as the announcer outside spoke.
"IS EVERYONE READY?!"
"TODAY WE HAVE ARISATO EIN, OF KUMOGAKURE AND UZUMAKI MINATO, OF KONOHAGAKURE GOING UP AGAINST UCHIHA ARATA, OF KONOHAKAURE, GUODUAN OF SUNGAKURE, AND RYŪSKE TAKESHI, OF AMEGAKURE!!"
A thunderous applaud flooded the stadium.
A spotlight shined on the red and blue flags that were positioned at two different points in the arena. On the top level of the arena, on one the green platform that was connected to the almost perpendicular bridge, was the red flag. On the bottom level, better known as the ground level, on the opposite side of the arena, was the blue flag.
"LEETTT IT BEGIN!"
And with that it commenced.
Note: Essentially, this is a game of King of the Hill, Ninja style. Each team is assigned a flag to protect. The objective is to collect the flag of the opposing team. Combat may ensue. Once the flag on the opposite team is collected, the game is over, and we'll have our winners.
Arata, Guoduan, and Takeshi are guarding the red flag. Minato and Ein are guarding the blue flag.
Do your intro posts, and then from there we'll decide a posting or (if we need one). Let's have everyone make one post before anyone tries to post twice.

Ein reached up atop their pole and picked off the blue flag, examining it briefly in her hands. "I guess I'll take it." she said decisively, looping it round the scabbard belt of her main wakizashi and tying it securely. With the other team having three people, they didn't really have the luxury of leaving someone here to guard. That would leave them shorthanded in trying to capture the other team's flag. No...Ein would pull double duty on this one, guarding and assisting on the capture. If anyone wanted their flag, they'd have to go through Kumogakure's Force of Nature to get it.
Ein would next unbuckle her secondary wakizashi from her belt and hold it out toward Minato. "You can take this, if you want." She grinned. "You really seemed to bond with it during the search for the pendants, so maybe it should be your good luck charm for the second part." And true enough, for someone who never mentioned having training with a blade, he wielded her well enough to get the job done. After all, Ein had her lifted tanto, which would serve well as a second blade, if she were to need it.
"Well," she said, grinding her geta into the grass beneath her feet. "I guess I'll see you there." With that, she grinned and turned to leave, starting off at a jog in the direction of their opposition's camp, going a bit wide in her advance.

SPIRALKID, CHAPTER THREE: THE CHŪNIN EXAMS "Thanks," grinned Minato as his hand grasped the scabbard of the wakizashi. He took this time to survey the surroundings. It would seem that the arena was rather spacious, which could make things interesting.
"Yeah," he nodded, turning back to face the wall of the arena. "Let's do it." He smiled as he took off in a sprint. With chakra alluring the soles of his feet and sandals, he sped up the side of the arena's wall until he got to the upper level. Across the bridge-way he saw all three of his opposition.
'This should be interesting' he intoned as he took off in another sprint after he slid Ein's wakazashi through the loop in his pants. It was a small adjusting, running with a weapon, but it was nothing too tedious to deal with. Minato kind of liked the feeling wielding a weapon gave him. He'd have to get himself one after the exams somehow.

Whispering amongst the small huddle of their team guoduan smiled at the two other genin. I don't know what to expect from these guys but lets stick to the plan we discussed earlier guoduan said in a whisper.
After finishing their conversation guoduan would grab their flag and return to the team huddle for a few moments. Guoduan would act as the teams flag defender as had been discussed earlier because of his strong defensive ninjutsu.
Then with a smirk the three genin would use the transformation jutsu to make it seem as though they were all carrying the flag.
Looking towards their opponents moving across the field towards them guoduan would prepare himself. Glancing towards his allies he smiled again, I hope we are ready for this guys.
(OOC: Arata Uchiha has the actual flag, guoduan and ryuuske have fakes.)

Shivers of excitement ran through his spine as they announced the names, as Arata stood there focusing his mind with his eyes shut. With their plan in place the trio stood ready to take on their common enemy, clenching his fists he opened his eyes just before the test began. The moment they said to begin Arata activated his sharingan to keep watch for enemy movement, it was not long before he saw the two make the first move.
"We got this"
He spoke in response to Guoduan's comment as he formed the seal to create a bunshin as they had previously planned. For now he would ready himself to counter attack when the moment was right, seeing that they had blades both the Arata's moved a hand in position to use his blade well his other was ready to grab either wire or shuriken. As they moved toward their position Arata would be analyzing every detail about his opponents in order to plan how they should fight these two. Turning slightly Arata tried to be sure the 'flag' on his back was not in the view of the incoming attackers, no matter what he wanted them wonder who has the flag.

Ryuuske Takeshi
Brushing the bangs out of his face Takeshi waited for the proctor to finish his speech. He scrutinized his surroundings thoroughly as everyone prepped for this final part of the exam. Although, Takeshi was a little bit thrown off on the twist they put on the battle portion of the exam. In the end though, this was probably as realistic as it would get. They would all probably encounter situations like this after they became Chunin.
"Looks like it will be an interesting day today."
Creating a bunshin he left it with his copy of their flag as he focused his chakra in his feet and disappeared under the platform. As he waited for the fight to ensue he pulled out some kunai and wire and began to fashion himself a few bolos using the kunai as weights and readied the rest to be used in traps.

Ein continued her advancement, her footsteps rapid and fleeting across the grasses. She could see her adversaries as they watched Minato and her make the first move. A wry grin split across her features as the three Genin they would be tasked in dispatching became six. This was their strategy? Well, it mattered not to her. Take out three, take out six, take out nine...this was what she was for. This was why she was here. Who's my bitch? Who's my bitch? she pondered, looking at the six distant shapes. She would take all comers, but was not about running around like a chicken with their head cut off.
The kid rigging the trap...nope. Why he was booby-trapping a flagpole that had no flag on it, she had no idea. But he didn't seem like the mule. One of the other two would likely be the carrier. Either the kid with the gourd, or the Konohagakure shinobi. Eenie...meenie...miney....you. Her eyes went to Guodaun, and she would begin to veer in his direction. Minato would take the other, likely, and whoever finished first would assist the one who was left. The one rigging the flagpole would likely be there for a minute, which was all Ein needed. She would focus on who would likely be the slower of the pair she was faced with. And so she went wide of the flagpole, approaching Guodaun with increasing speed. It was apparent now that she was the one he would be facing, and she eyed him as hungrily as a hawk eyed a squirrel, palm on her hilt.

SPIRALKID, CHAPTER THREE: THE CHŪNIN EXAMS Minato moved swiftly. He had his target in his sights the moment he noticed Ame Genin veer off and vanish under the bridge. It was him and the Uchiha; he was about to make him his bitch. The only problem was that there was two of them, but no matter, he had a way of handling that issue.
Digging into his pouch attached to his back as he raced forward, the spiral ninja collected four shuriken and an explosion tag. Throwing two shuriken at each of the Uchiha's visages, he grinned as his hand coiled inward before throwing the explosion tag. Minato stopped in his place as the explosion tag sliced through the breezeless air, and once it was well within the distance of his opponent(s), and more than far enough away from him, he'd detonate the explosion with a single handsign.
Tora... he recited the name of the handsign in his thoughts, as a loud explosion would sound and rupture outward. When he detonated the tag, it would be more than within a relatively decent distance of his opponent, and given the convenient distraction, he was sure that it would hit its' mark.
"That should do it," he said to himself as he watched his actions play out. Nothing overly damaging would ensue, besides the Uchiha possibly getting blown across the bridge. He'd survive and all, so things would continue, and Minato would know which one of the two were real.

The opponents quickly closed on them and made the first move guoduan looked to the approaching genin. Looks like she is gonna attack me. With kenjutsu or taijutsu, maybe a combination of the two. Why would she be so willing to close the gap she doesn't know what i can or cant do. I need to buy myself more time guoduan thought.
Guoduan smirked i guess i gotta stall longer for ryuuske and Arata, then with a quick hand dropped into his pocket he threw a smoke bomb at his feet. His hands started into hand seals, who is this chick shes fearless guoduan thought.
Tsuyo-sa no jōmyaku no jutsu
Using the smoke screen as a veil for his attack the metal dust burst forth from guoduans gourd flying towards ein twisting and churning it would grasp out for her limbs. Guoduan was unsure what this genin would be capable of so he thought it better to keep her at a distance.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Tactical info: Tsuyo-sa no jōmyaku magnet release: Vein of strength, C-Rank Manipulating the metal dust Guoduan carries in his gourd he is able to after the proper hands seals attack an opponent wrapping their limbs in metal dust. This attack will bind an opponent and keep them from moving but is not intended to do actual harm to them physically.

Ryuuske Takeshi[/i][/size]
A small frown appeared as it was clear to Takeshi that both of the Genin from the opposing team clearly did not think that he was much of a threat. That was something that he had intended on making them re-thinks as he began twirling one of the bolos to give it the necessary momentum before he made his move. Trying to time it our just right Takeshi waited for Ein's reaction to Guoduan's attack. Using the platform that he had been previously standing on to cover his movements as he used the shunshin to reposition himself above and behind his opponent. At this point the timing was crucial and he waited to see what kind of counter the kumo genin would try and use.
..The timing has to be perfect... [/i][/blockquote] Takeshi put all his vagrant thoughts to rest as he focused on the task at hand.[/blockquote]

Guodaun stayed in her sights as she continued her trajectory toward him. She was approaching Takeshi's platform now, and her hand went to draw her wakizashi. Closing her palm around its hilt, the high-speed draw that her father had taught her was initiated as she sliced through the beams holding the platform up. One, two, three, and the entire deal would come crashing down as she passed by, continuing to Guodaun. Blade was back in her scabbard as Takeshi's entire foothold began to fall apart, forcing them all onto equal ground.
There would be no 'reaction' to the attack. He dropped his smoke bombs, and Ein simply continued, now drawing her tanto in her left hand. She held it up, crossed back over her face diagonally and defensively. The smoke was thick, but she could see the shadow of motion within it, and that would be her target. The smoke would shield her motions from Takeshi until it cleared, and whatever happened within those billowing clouds would happen. The tendrils began to approach, one by one, whipping out toward her and then falling apart. Ein entertained the tendrils for a motion, just to make sure, and offered them the edge of her blade, but one by one, they disintegrated once they got within range of her. Following the centralized location that they all seemed to originate from, she was confident she was closing in on Guodaun now.
Tanto was tossed to her left hand now, and the right would be cocked back. She could see a shadow now with an awkward shape protruding from it. Her speed was great, her aim was true. She lanced toward him now, drawing back to what felt like Kumogakure or beyond before launching a straight punch right at Guodaun's head with enough strength to knock him clean out.

The blow was straight and true aiming straight towards guoduans head, with barely anytime to think guoduan dropped to the ground right as the punch was going to connect, landing on his back.
Her missed blow would sending her sailing past him which would give guoduan time to prepare his needed defense.
Kinzoku-sei no shīrudo no jutsu he said as he flew through the hand seals. With the shield formed around him her next attack should be able to be blocked by his shield.
How did my bindings miss guoduan thought to himself, she seems quick but she didnt change her trajectory they were flying straight towards her. This chick is good guoduan thought again as he pushed up to his feet facing the direction he believed the next attack would come from.

Ryuuuske Takeshi
As the young kunoichi sped toward Guoduan, Takeshi noticed that he was having trouble keeping up with her movement. It was plainly obvious to him that the girl had spent considerable time honing her taijutsu techniques. It was actually impressive enough that it had left an impression on Takeshi and he decided that he would spent more time on his taijutsu after these exams. As the kumo geninbegan drawing her sword that's when Takeshi decided that it would be best to act.
...I'm sorry Guoduan...I hope your not in the way...
With that last wandering thought he let the bolo whip out of his hand. He had aimed it not directly at Ein but in front of her toward the smoke. After releasing the first bolo Takeshi then began throwing all of the other bolos and kunai with wires attatched in the area. With his intention to supress and immobize that target, Takeshi knew that an attack like this would be his only chance since he was still in the process of working out the kinks for his other jutsu. He would of used the only jutsu that Takeshi knew but after studying her speed and movements he guessed that close quarters would be a bad idea.

OOC: the match ended two post after Minato last posted here. Meaning, at this very moment we are roughly at the same time frame. Arata surrendered on his third post, meaning in Guoduans post it will be announced, making this part of the exams completed. Despite this, and the match officially being over, you can post your next round of post with reactions and stuff to the announcement of the match being completed which would be happening at this very moment.
You can take this OOC post as the IC announcement. Although, I'm sure there's a big screen displaying Minato and Arata's fight, so the surrender was broadcasted. Either way, there'd be an announcement also.
Side note: this thread alone doesn't dictate who becomes Chunin. Not sure why people thought otherwise, but it doesn't. The whole collective will determine the results. I'll have to read over everything, and see what everyone did first then I'll PM everyone the end results- though, I'm sure they are clear.

Ein ran. And that was an understatement. She was hoofing it. So much so that it would backfire on her as Guodaun ducked her punch by dropping to the ground. She sailed over him, her geta clipping his gourd as she did so and sending her horizontal over the air. "Shit...." she mumbled as she lost her footing, flailing at the air around her for some sort of handhold. Anything, really. She got one...one of the bolas flung into the fray wrapped around her wrist, accelerating her already-breakneck speed.
Ein was propelled from the smoke cloud as other bolas and kunai rained out behind her, and she hit the dirt and grass, rolling and skidding a ditch a good seventy-five feet clear from where she had started. "Wow..." she breathed, rolling over to sit up, untying the weighted string from around her wrist. Angrily, she stood, first patting her waist beneath her scabbard to make sure the flag was still tied to her and safe. After verifying the knotted lump, she cupped her hands to her mouth and hollered back at the team of shinobi.
"Who in the hell fires weapons blindly into a smoke cloud?! You could have hit your teammate! Use your head!" For all Ein knew, Takeshi very well might have hit Guodaun. Knowing that these were the kind of crazy tactics that this pair was about, she waited safely a good distance away, waiting for the smoke to clear before launching into another attack.

The wind howled over guoduans body as the projectiles and bola flew inches from him, clinching his fist he realized there had also been kunai. A small pool of blood collected beneath guoduans leg from a lodged kunai stuck firmly into the bone of his leg.
Well that didn't go as expected guoduan thought, i shouldn't have used the smoke. All it did was weaken our strategy by preventing Ryuuske from being able to aim properly. That was my failure and if i hadn't been on the ground until a few seconds ago those kunai might have been in my back. No problem though its not Ryuuske's fault we can make this work.
The smoke cleared and guoduan could see the image of Minato on one of the large screens, in his hand was their flag. The loudspeakers thundered an announcement of the winner, it was Minato and Ein. Guoduan quickly fell out of his combative stance and allowed the ninjutsu to disipate as the metal dust flew back into his gourd. The metal cork flew back into its place on the gourd while Guoduan slowly limped towards the incoming medical nin.
They looked over his leg and said it wasn't anything to horrible, as guoduan stood there the roar of the crown flooded out all other noise with chants of the victors names.
Minato and Ein. Minato and Ein...
Good job guys guoduan said with a smile towards Minato and Ein as he left with the medical nin.
