Watching the two he could see Ein was moving pretty quick toward Guoduan though he also noticed Minato's actions. Taking quick action he chose to focus on his fellow leaf shinobi since he was already throwing shuriken his way. Quickly he prepped the body replacement jutsu just in time to avoid the explosion, well he moved back out of view behind the explosion. Running through hand-seals Arata prepped a jutsu as the air cleared up, as he finished up he grabbed 8 shuriken to throw into the justu including two with wires connected to them.
"Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Fire Technique"
He spoke as he threw the shuriken into the air toward his opponent well the jutsu caught them all on fire. The two with the wires along with four others flew at Minato well two went off towards Ein as a sort of distraction. Hoping to keep his opponents away from the flag Arata planned on keeping his distance well helping the others, but so far it was not working as he hoped it would. One could see the concentration in his currently red eyes as he was controlling the fire toward the targets.

SPIRALKID, CHAPTER THREE: THE CHŪNIN EXAMS Minato scoffed after he saw the defensive that his attack was responded with. Shaking his head as he sped forth one again. With the clone, or whatever it was out of the way, Minato could focus on Arata. Glaring at the Uchihas as he raced forth, the spiral ninja smirked as he watched him reach for some weapons. By this point Minato was practically standing a meter away from the greenery located on the platform in which his opponents' flag pole was located. Instantly he performed three quick handsigns, as the projectiles were being thrown at him. He heaved, and the shuriken had all just been completely released, then he hoed, releasing a 1powerful gale-force as he did so. 'Fūton ・Kazarin.' The name of the jutsu he used sounded within his mind as the force of the gale would push outward sending the attack that the Uchiha just sent at the young Uzumaki back, rendering it useless. The chiming noise from the jutsu would sound. Not only that, the violent torrent of wind would also be more than enough to transcend pass the futile offensive maneuver. It would also effect the Uchiha himself. He probably wouldn't have time to prep and escape this time. An impending sense of doom would surely fall upon him and beat into his frame as they would be pushed into the wall behind them. Then again, maybe there was something he could do. NOTE: 1 風遁・風鈴 FŪTON・KAZARIN WIND RELEASE・WIND CHIME - C RANKED A technique developed by Minato where he exhales a stream of winds at a high-velocity. Powerful gales of wind are created; and, due to the fast nature of the technique, it only provides the target with a short window of opportunity in turns of escape. In terms of range, the gale winds created are strong enough to blow away anyone within a fifteen meter radius. Serious wounds, that include tremendous blunt force damage and fractures, may be received. The technique gains its' namesake from the audible whistle that resonates while the technique is being used, it's literally reminiscent to the sounds made by an actual wind chime. |

It was not long after Arata had thrown the shuriken when he realized he had made a mistake. He knew Minato was a wind user so throwing shuriken was not the best game plan, though he did not expect the amount of force behind it. Dropping the wires he covered his face with his arms as the wind hit into him tearing at his flesh well lifting him from his feet. Then it all suddenly came to an end when his back met with the wall causing severe pain to shoot through his body. With his brain being rattled Arata had a hard time focusing, especially when he could not breath.
Catching his breath he opened his eyes which had faded back to their normal state. Looking around he noticed the flag that had been tucked into the back of his belt everything seemed to come together as he mustered the strength to stand up. Taking his still sheathed sword in hand he held it up in a defensive manner well holding the flag in the other. Even though all he could hear was a screeching in his ears, and his body felt as if it had been tossed down a mountain Arata would not give up so easily.
"That... all.. you got...?"
As he spoke he would start slowly moving toward his team mates with hopes that one of them would help. He figured they would realize that he was the one with the flag, this was not at all how he thought it would go. For one he did not think he would be getting his ass handed to him, and he also though the others had some sort of plan. Wincing in pain all he could do was keep moving and try to defend himself until he no longer could.

03SPIRAL KID: THE CHŪNIN EXAMS 'I might as well go ahead and end this,' Minato told himself as he continued on his way over towards the now injured Uchiha. 1With chakra spinning into its' spherical form, he would utilize the jutsu that was his birthright- the jutsu that was created by the man in which he was named after.
By the time the Uchiha managed to collect himself enough to stand to his feet, the spiral kid was standing literally a little less than a meter away from him with the Rasengan fully formed in his hand. As he began to draw his sword, the young Uzumaki would begin to close the remaining distance between them quickly. He could see that the Uchiha had their sword in one hand and the flag in the other.
"No, that's not all I got!" grinned Minato, he was crouched down once he was face to face with Arata. Thrusting his right arm, which was holding the Rasengan, in way of the sword. He'd grab the flag with his left hand while holding the Rasengan against his fellow Konoha-nin's solar plexus.
"You lost," Minato commented honestly, his green orbs peering up at Arata. "I have the flag now, so this is over. Drop your guard and lower your sword before you get hurt." |

A disappointed look came to Arata's face as Minato rushed in at him with the Rasengan. He had hoped that his fellow leaf-nin would not be willing to go to those measures. Though some people worried more about a rank then others, either way this would be where he drew his limits. Whether he could figure a way to avoid this attack or not, Arata would just stand there as Minato spoke.
"So your willing to use that technique on your fellow shinobi just for a rank?"
Of course Arata could tell what it was seeing as his grandfather fought against it so often. He also knew there was some ways he could avoid the attack, but yet he lowered his sheathed sword. Placing it back at his hip he smiled at Minato in a calm fashion as he let go of the flag that he held tightly in his hand.
"Sadly I do not hold the same views as you..."
Putting his hands in his pockets Arata stood there not letting his eyes drift away from Minato's. One could tell he did not expect Minato to go through with the attack now that Arata had let his guard down.
"I surrender"
Having said that Arata could only hope that his companions would not be too cross with him. They might have done some all out attack with out a care for the life of their fellow shinobi, but Arata could not let himself become anything like his anscestors.

03SPIRAL KID: THE CHŪNIN EXAMS Minato chuckled as he heard the Uchiha's sad attempt to make him feel bad, or whatever his aim was with his retort. He was unstirred as the chakra in his hand slowly began to recede and vanish until there was nothing but the fabric of the flag left in his hands.
"Fellow shinobi or not," he began, standing to his feet. "You were on an opposing team, thus you were my opposition. Besides..." He sighed, walking off with the flag as the official called out the winner of the bout. "I never intended to use it on you."
The roar of the crowd would rage thunderously. Disappointment settled in his eyes; why, because he was expecting more of a challenge out of this part of the exams. It would seem that his desires would remain unfulfilled.
"And, I'm not here because of a rank, I could care less about becoming a Chūnin just for the same of becoming one." Lacing his fingers and locking them behind his yellow, bushy mop, he walked off.
"I promised someone I would come to the exams and give it my all, no matter what. You should talk less, and gather more facts with that Sharingan of yours before you make half-witted assumptions about me, Arata-kun." His words were heavy, brash, and blunt. Then again, he felt offended by the Uchiha's allegations so his response was warranted. But alas, the exams were over now. |

A smile came to Arata's face as Minato walked away from him, his words barely heard through the ringing in his eyes. With one hand he reached up to clear his right ear, the impact against the wall must of messed his hearing. Bringing his hand down to place it on the hilt of his sword he had to admit Minato got the best of him on this day, Arata was letting his urge to be different then his anscestors get in the way.
"Hey Minato-kun. I must admit you live up to your name-sake... your better then I expected"
With that Arata glance over at his team-mates over by Ein both focused on capturing the flag. Yet neither paid no attention to protecting their flag, he knew their lack of team work was the cause to their loss. Then again Arata did not do very good either seeing as he let himself get into a loosing situation so quickly, he had to get used to this sharingan if he ever wanted to become strong. Finally he turned to leave the exams feeling a bit ashamed of himself he would rather not talk to anyone.
