Equipment
Name of Item: Speech and Music Type of Item: Offensive, Defensive, Supplementary Description of Item: Members of the Konasu clan tend to specialize in Kusarigama usage, though their type of weapon is a notch above the average. They are a blending of an ordinary staff, equipped with a helix mechanism that allows the blade to be cast outward in a motion akin to a fishing pole with a flick of a switch installed on the upper hilt. This releases the chain and allows the sickle to be effectively rocketed toward a specific target within the chain's reach. Another flick of the switch to the original middle-positioning locks the chain in place and a flick in the opposite direction reels the sickle back in, the chain winding deep within the staff hilt and the sickle resting atop, allowing it to be used as a regular scythe or as a defensive or offensive staff. The weapon is custom made for each user, the entire weapon adjusted to shoulder-height of the user, from the tip of the hilt to the topmost curve of the sickle. The bottom of the staff can be hollowed out to a point to house hidden weapons: most often a Tanto.
Speech was crafted by Rüsski herself, the staff made of smoky, highly shatter-resistant Sol-Gel, so it's translucent yet dark in shade. The blade is made of hardened Sol-Gel so dark that it appears to be metallic in nature, and the chain is made of amorphous fiberglass cables so that there isn't an ounce of metal on the weapon. This kusari-gama is used more to beat and bludgeon than it is to cut, due to its heavier weight. Hidden within the bottom of the staff is a katana. Music was also crafted by Rüsski, the entire staff made of a lighter weight material, similar to Plexiglass or reinforced fiberglass. The blade of Music is made of less-dense Sol-gel, much sharper than that of Speech and due to its lighter weight: able to be wielded faster and with more accuracy. Its chain is also made of fiberglass cabling. Hidden within the bottom of this staff is a katana.
Terasu inherited both of the weapons from her grandmother.
Name of Item: 1, 2 Step Type of Item: Offense, Defense Description of Item: These geta are made of a dark wood, plated on the sole with steel and rubber on the toe and heel slats. The most distinctive feature of these geta is that the sides and front of these shoes are edged with razor sharp metal that comes out about a half-inch from the shoe, making connected kicks particularly nasty with shallow, painful latitudinal gouges and glancing swipes even more dangerous, capable of slicing and shearing.
Name of Item: Pitch Type of Item: Offensive, Defensive Description of Item: A replica of the Melody Arm that Konasu Russki was given during her time as a Jonin, it was tuned up and passed down to her granddaughter, Terasu. Made of Sol-Gel, it is translucent and smoky black in color, the apparatus functions in the same way that it allows amplification of vibrations created by air passing through the ports on it. Terasu wears Pitch on her right arm.
Name of Item: Noiseless Type of Item: Supplementary Description of Item: An ultrasonic silver whistle, it is silent when blown, creating high frequency and powerful vibrations that Terasu will then manipulate. It is kept on a chain around her neck, often tucked into her shirt for safe keeping.
Techniques
Name of Jutsu: Saccade Rank of Jutsu: Unranked Dojutsu Description of Jutsu: A dojutsu belonging to the Konasu clan of Sunagakure, the activation of the Saccade allows the sight of vibrations, as well as the control of vibrations that they have created. Essentially "hearing with the eyes". The vibrations are shown as brightly colored lines (similar to those of an EKG) on a desaturated plane. As a Konasu trains their Saccade and experiences everyday life, they learn to segregate and exclude irrelevant vibrations from their line of sight. Things such as normal patterns of wind travel, normal movements within a crowd. The vibrations can be seen from up to up to 100 yards away. This dojutsu can be carried in one or both eyes, but will not blend or cooperate alongside other dojutsu. The eye is golden.
Name of Jutsu: Hariton Rank of Jutsu: Unranked Kekkei Genkai Description of Jutsu: Through a natural blending of Doton and Katon chakra natures, the Konasu are able to produce an amorphous glass and excrete it from their pores. Through further use of chakra, this amorphous glass is able to be manipulated, shaped and solidified for use. This glass, enhanced by the Konasu chakra, is more durable than normal glass.
Name of Jutsu: Glass Dance Rank of Jutsu: Supplementary, D-Rank Description of Jutsu: By using the amorphous glass they secrete, the Konasu are able to shape and craft any sort of weapon, limited by their own imaginations. Konasu just starting out may only be able to craft shuriken and kunai, while more experienced users might be able to create elaborate swords, shields, gauntlets and other assorted things.
Name of Jutsu: Ebb Rank of Jutsu: Defensive, Close Range, C-Rank Description of Jutsu: By exuding a quantity of vibrating chakra from the body outward, the trajectory of oncoming weapons and attacks is disrupted, causing them to miss their target.
Name of Jutsu: Resonance Rank of Jutsu: Supplementary, Close Range, C-Rank Description of Jutsu: By concentrating their vibrating chakra into their hands, feet or into their weapons, they are able to disrupt the blood, muscles and organs of where they impact. The results of this is numbness of the skin in the area, then followed by severe muscle pain, bruising and pooling of blood under the skin. A hit in the proximity of a vital organ (such as the heart, lungs, liver, or brain) will cause muscle spasms, ringing in the ears, and increase of pressure behind the eyes.
Name of Jutsu: Bend Rank of Jutsu: Supplementary, All Ranges, B-Rank Description of Jutsu: Terasu retains exemplary control over her own vibrations, particularly the ones she creates by blowing her ultrasonic whistle. She can take these vibrations and control their motion, so broadly as to condense them and assault structures, terrain and people, or with such precision to direct them to move objects. The strength of the vibrations depend on how hard she blows her whistle.
Name of Jutsu: Sonar Rank of Jutsu: Supplementary, Far Range, C-rank Description of Jutsu: By blowing her silent whistle, Terasu can create vibrations that advance outward in a cone shape for an additional hundred yards beyond the Saccade's default range, either returning upon hitting a solid surface within that range, or upon reaching 200 yards. The rebounded vibrations behave as a type of echolocation, able to outline for Terasu's Saccade an complete layout of the area ahead, including terrain and whatever is on it.
Name of Jutsu: Flow Rank of Jutsu: Unranked Taijutsu Style Description of Jutsu: A taijutsu style that utilizes rhythm and mimics the motion of reverberation, Flow takes full advantage of erratic, unpredictable, distracting motions woven tightly with intermittent, chakra-laced but not exceptionally-powerful-otherwise attacks. This is a fighting style that works as well to the user's advantage as it does their disadvantage, because it's a minute-to-minute fighting style, where not even they necessarily know what they're going to do next. The style has never truly been mastered, as there are no set rules to its use and each users inner rhythm is different and subject to change, though there have been users who have wielded it exceptionally well. Often used in conjunction with Saccade, Flow resembles break dancing in most aspects, though not as detailed and dramatic. A good defense as well as offense, while most moves are erratic bluffs and dodges meant to lull the opponent into not knowing when a real attack is coming, the ones that do allow in a hit or kick are infused with active, vibrating chakra. This chakra, also reverberating like a tuning fork that has just been hit, basically knots and pinches muscle fiber wherever it hits, causing intense muscle pain and/or tremors that could last for hours. More debilitating and distracting than deadly, you're more prone to suffer more injury from the intense punches and kicks than you will the effects of the chakra. The intensity of these kicks and punches in their own right depend not upon chakra, but upon the user's own personal strength.
Name of Jutsu: Feathered Soul (精属羽) Rank of Jutsu: unranked Hagoromo Hijutsu Description of Jutsu: The psittacine-rearing Hagoromo family, now nearly-extinct sans a few remaining individuals scattered throughout Hi no Kuni and Kaze no Kuni, were a Fuinjutsu family, specializing in seals. At birth, a baby is bonded to a parrot by means of sealing a portion of their soul, namely their happiness, into an egg. Once the egg hatches, the baby and this bird will grow together. The seal allows the human to use jutsu to see through the eyes of their bonded partner, and to communicate with and understand the language of the parrot. They will also possess a perfected henge of their avian partner. So long as human and bird remain together, neither will know sadness, even in the most trying times and will possess the inner strength to overcome any adversity. If the bird of the person is killed, their happiness dies with it, and they will experience only inner sorrow, loss and emptiness, and their tears will never cease to fall until the day they die. If the human is killed, the bird will too simultaneously die, and the human soul and their happiness will be reunited in the afterlife, with the soul of their partner and both will know peace upon their death.
Terasu is bonded to her black palm cockatoo, Hamaon
Name of Jutsu: Feathered Soul Sealing (精属羽印) Rank of Jutsu: Fuinjutsu, Close Range, Supplementary Description of Jutsu: This is the basic ability to perform Feathered Soul on a baby whose umbilical cord has just been cut. Being a hijutsu, the Hagoromo clan's abilities are not particularly restricted to those who inherently bear the Hagoromo genes and name, but rather can be created, though this in the past has been somewhat frowned upon. It involves taking blood from the umbilical cord and drawing a feather pattern on the baby's abdomen. This will remain visible and grow with the child into adulthood, resembling a black-outlined tattoo. Likewise, on the egg, with the same blood, a seal will be drawn and chakra infused into both. This permanently bonds the bird within the egg with the baby whose blood was used to draw the seal. The egg will hatch on the child's one-year birthday.
Name of Jutsu: Bird Bones (鳥骨) Rank of Jutsu: Unranked Attribute Description of Jutsu: Being so attuned with birds and believed to be the children of the Tengu, the Hagoromo, over time, began to take on the traits of birds. Besides the fact that a good deal of them have colored crests of hair meant to resemble those of their familiars (Terasu is lacking this attribute) they also have a lesser density of bone marrow in their bones, making them more hollow and lighter. This allows the Hagoromo to more efficiently use Get Lifted, as well as making them generally swifter and more agile, able to accelerate faster in a run with less bulk to haul, able to jump higher and stay in the air a little longer. Likewise, connected hits will send them flying further and a particularly hard impact may break the bone entirely.
Name of Jutsu: Higher Learning (精属羽: 高覚) Rank of Jutsu: Unranked Attribute Description of Jutsu: This is more an attribute of the Hagoromo familiar. The birds reared by the Hagoromo family are comparable to any other in appearance and mannerisms, each bird having its own individual likes and dislikes and thus personality. One attribute, achieved through generations of careful breeding, is unlike those of most other non-clan psittacines, and that is their learning capacity.
While these birds are by no means scholars nor do they possess the IQ of an average adult shinobi or normal human speech patterns, their cognitive abilities are nonetheless extremely advanced. These birds can accumulate the vocabulary of the average eighth-grader by adolescence (around 10-12 years) and are capable of attaching basic meanings to these words (ie. learning that milk is for drinking, that apples are red, yellow or green and not blue or purple) and thus are capable of learning similar to children.
The Hagoromo parrots can from there learn to form the most basic of sentences on their own involving observations or personal wants or needs. In addition to this, they have excellent memories and forget very little that they have learned, seen or heard. They quickly attach names to faces and can remember numerous individual people. They are also accomplished mimics, able to copy voices, tone and will forever associate the things they've heard with the person who's said them.
They can perform basic counting (most can't grasp past the number ten, though there have been some who have made it to fifteen or even twenty), recognize colors, differentiate some animals from one another (they'll be able to tell a squirrel from a big dog, though not a Pomeranian from a Great Dane and will generalize in that department) and generally be able to tell a man from a woman, an adult from a child based on trial and error in the past, appearance generalizations including hair-length, height, etc. The extent to what a bird knows will depend on the teachings and devotion of its partner: a diligent Hagoromo's bird will be constantly learning while a lazier one's familiar will be slower on the uptake and the delivery.
Name of Jutsu: Feathered Soul: Get Lifted Rank of Jutsu: Supplementary, Close Range, A-rank Description of Jutsu: This hijutsu is traditionally performed on all of those possessing Feathered Soul, but it is only fully attainable by fewer than even ten percent of those who receive it. On the first birthdate of the bonded child, their egg will hatch. As a ritual, the fluid from the yolk of the hatchling egg is used in a similar manner as was used at the birth of the child, and a wing tattoo is drawn on their back, right at the shoulder blade and sealed with chakra. This yolk will brand into the skin, darkening similar to ink and the wings will take on the form of a tattoo.
Once the child has learned chakra control, they can begin training in Get Lifted. The training is strenuous, and it takes place over the course of many years. It involves concentrating chakra to the marking to the point of actually animating the latent properties of the marking, literally animating it from the skin. The bone of the shoulder blade will extend outward, folding in two jointed areas. The feather pattern will animate into snowy-white feathers: three rows, the genetic material contained within the yolk activated by the concentration of chakra in the user. (Terasu is an exception: her wings are black, to match those of her bonded bird).
The end result is a pair of eight-foot wide wings capable of sustaining the Hagoromo in flight.
The process is painful, causing many to give up early in the training. Even after mastery over the ability, the stretching of bone remains excruciatingly painful, the general process uncomfortable and ranging from extreme pain to itchiness to nausea from the sound of bone and joint momentarily shifting. Keeping the supply of chakra consistent along with the concentration through the pain is a difficult task, making the process, upon being completed the first time can make it take upwards of five minutes, and it often takes more than two or three consistent years of training after completing the jutsu for the first time to get transformation time fluid and within an instant's time. To reverse the jutsu takes equivalent concentration but less chakra to break down the wings and revert them into the back again. It takes considerably less time to reverse, also, and is less but still painful. These wings, like those of an actual bird, are an extension of the body and can be injured. However, drawing the wings back into the body and re-transforming them is a means of renewal: they will re-emerge the next time as if nothing had happened.
Name of Jutsu: Kuchiyose no Jutsu Rank of Jutsu: Supplementary, Close Range, C-rank Description of Jutsu: A powerful jutsu, Ninpo Kuchiyose allows a ninja to summon animals and objects to fight on their behalf. The ninja normally signs a blood contract with the animal species, which allows them to summon different size and skill levels of creature. Terasu is able to summon the Caribou, Tekkeitsertok, like her grandmother.
