Unclaimed forestland Kairai Masuna stopped moving.
He had been Shunshining from tree to tree for some time, no idea of where he was heading just moving to get away. He had long ago left the lands of Kaze no Kuni and the Project IZANAGI facility, which was likely still being sifted through for some sign as to what occurred. He had been quite thorough in his destruction so it was highly unlikely that any survivors would exist to tell the tale.
Masuna glanced about - he was alone, for now, but he could hear in the distance the sound of some village or another. What the makeup of that town was he couldn't stay at this distance, but they were likely to have food and supplies he could take. He dropped from the tree he'd been standing on and sat in the crook of it's roots, closing his eyes but keeping his ears attuned to any sounds. He would recharge the depleted chakra cells in his limbs before moving on - operating on just 'battery power' wasn't going to be useful if he encountered heavy resistance.
The light of the noon sun above him, Masuna was safely hidden in the shade of his tree as he waited, biding his time and energy and ever aware of any approach. Once he was ready, he would approach the town and figure out his next course of action.

Masuna's eyes opened suddenly. The light had shifted, by several hours it appeared. He hadn't meant to fall asleep, but that was past now. The shinobi stood, dusting himself off, and scanned the area.
Nobody had joined him during his rest, which was good. The sounds of a nearby village could still be heard, so he set off in that direction. His Shunshin took him away from the spot and to a better vantage point. The village was small, and by the structure of the buildings he judged he was somewhere near Kusa no Kuni. He needed food and supplies, but had no means with which to barter.
He would figure this out later. First, he approached the village on foot.
Unnamed Village Kusa no Kuni As he got close, a pair of guards lazily stirred at the village gate. Seeing his unusual attire and prosthetics, they halted him. "Oi, you. This village belongs to the venerable lord of Kusa no Kuni. Just what village are you from?" They peered at the shinobi carefully.
"What makes you think I'm with a village?" Masuna retorted calmly. He bore no sign of his home village, Sunagakure, which was fortunate. Those fools at Project IZANAGI hadn't thought to brand him. Makes it better for stealth assassinations. He left his arms lowered by his side to appear less threatening, but it was evident that he was intimidating one of the two Samurai.
"Oi, you're obviously not a civilian, so what are you?"
"Just a man who wants to disappear."
The two guards exchanged glances, and Masuna knew he wasn't getting out of this peacefully. There was always money to be made on nukenin, and they now assumed that's what he was. To be fair, it wasn't wrong. He sighed and raised his arms to just in front of him and between him and the two.
"Look, you don't want to do this."
The men simultaneously dropped the spears they'd been holding and reached to draw their blades.
Before they could, Masuna's arm blades shot out and he lunged forward, punching out as lightning crackled down the chakra reactive blades. The two guards groaned quietly and slumped over, supported only by the blades. The crackling electricity faded and he withdrew the blades back into his arms, and the bodies fell to the ground. He needed to move quickly now, as this wouldn't go unnoticed for long.
Masuna reached down and grabbed the arms of the corpses, vanishing from the spot and taking them with him. He stashed the bodies unceremoniously in the guard house by the entry point and cleaned the blood off his arm blades while he was there. Walking back into the village, he looked as if nothing was wrong.
Masuna reached the market and began gathering food and medical supplies into his pouch. He paid nothing for the things he took, and ignored those who attempted to stop him. Right about then, the screaming began from the front of the village, as someone had run off to find the guards to report him.
Briefly, Masuna wondered what sort of resistance would be generated.

Apparently, none at all.
The citizens were making noise, but nobody was apparently going to come to their aid. He gently shoved some civilians out of the way - so long as none of them presented a clear threat, he didn't have a reason to attack them. His vest pouches loaded up with supplies, he turned and looked around the village - activating his thermal vision just in case someone decided to hide their approach.
Nothing.
The shinobi placed his hands together, and vanished in a Shunshin - leaving the village to sort it out on their own.
He reappeared outside the village, and continued wandering on his way - now with food to eat. He now, at least, knew where he was - Kusa no Kuni.

A day later...
Oushi quickly moved through the village, he had been a part of the squad previously assigned to deal with the bandit groups that had cropped up all over the land. The deaths of the two village guards was assumed to the work of this same bandit group.
After spending a few hours questioning the locals Oushi went back to the guard headquarters building once more, just to see if there had been any new developments in the investigation.
The head guard shared with Oushi the details involving the cause of deaths to the guards, the wounds made by a blade both extremely sharp and strong. The cuts were clean, which in a way seemed to be beyond the normal tools Oushi had seen the bandits carrying or using.
It wasn't exactly clear who this individual or individuals are, there was a strangeness to the scenario there hadn't exactly been previous bandits reports nearby to this village. Yet maybe that just meant the bandits were on the move trying to find area's outside of the Grass village's constant protection.
"Was there any witnesses found?" Oushi asked to the head guard, and then waited for him to respond.
No, there was not any witnesses other then those you see hear. Said the head guard with a frown as he peered away from Oushi embarrassed.
Is there something-
"No, its fine." Oushi stated looking towards the man with a kindness in his eyes. "This isn't your fault, and don't worry i will find the men responsible." Oushi stated as he set a reassuring hand on the older mans shoulder.
"I only need one other thing." Oushi stated to the head guard as the old man's resolve slowly continued to crumble.
"I need your men to gather as much information from the villagers about any strangers or unknown individuals they saw yesterday, hopefully this should help us find our killer or at least guide us in the right direction."

Masuna woke up.
A day had passed since his raid on the village, and he was quite a distance from it now - deeper into the heart of Kusa no Kuni. He'd seen some patrols of ANBU as he traveled, careful to avoid detection. Unfortunately, because he'd been keeping a low profile he hadn't been able to move via Shunshin. He was operating under the assumption that each ANBU squad he passed had at least one sensor among them, so he had to limit his chakra usage. He had no proof for this assumption, but it was best to assume the worst when dealing with the unknown.
So he took his time, traveling carefully and leaving no trail - as his assassin training had dictated. Soft steps, no broken twigs or blades of grass, and he always hid from view when he saw people coming. He'd remained undetected thusfar, and would prefer to keep it that way until he had more information about the land o Grass. One thing he could tell, though - they patrolled the realm with fervor.
So Masuna continued further inland, doing his best to reverse track the paths the ANBU came from, hoping to reach their village.

The rest of the day Oushi spent looking for any clear trail that may have belonged to bandits, he searched until he had run out of daylight. Then returned to check in one last time, the village was buzzing with rumors and stories as all smaller villages are after something so rare happens.
He luckily ran into the head guard in passing nearby t the guard station who passed to him a list of descriptions gathered from villagers of any strangers that had visited the village yesterday.
The list was relatively short having only five different individuals described, the harsh realization overtook Oushi there was no track or trace of the bandits. He would have to return to the village hidden in Grass empty handed.
This would be one of the first times in many years that Oushi had failed to finish a mission, he felt tired and embarrassed. He started thinking about what he would say and the look upon hi superiors face when he returned with nothing more then rough descriptions and rumors.
There was something off about this whole situation, Oushi had never seen bandits enter in secret in broad daylight and murder two guards then leave with no trace. Usually a foot print or something, and it was also weird. Normally such actions from bandits were proudly followed with a token of their gang or clan as a sign of strength and a warning to their enemies.
There was nothing, no sign, no token, no drawing, no trace, it was looking less and less like a bandit attack with every new piece of evidence.

Masuna was startled to see a giant wall.
He had made his way inland, following both the direction he had seen ANBU coming from and the giant mountain he had spotted some time ago, once he'd climbed the surrounding trees to get a better vantage. He was careful to conceal himself without using chakra whenever he'd seen the tell tail signs of an ANBU patrol. They were stealthy, but they weren't expecting to be watched for so there were signs any experienced ANBU would be able to see.
Still, as he had been focused on the mountain and staying hidden, he'd thought he would have noticed the wall before he was almost ontop of it, but he hadn't. He decided to follow the wall around to locate it's entry point - why not? After all, he had nothing better to do. And mayhap he'll find the key to his revenge within this land of grass.

Oushi hoped and clung on to every shred of evidence believing it might turn something up, but eventually the trail ran dry and there was nothing else Oushi could do.
Feeling a little bit upset Oushi decided to start off early on his way back to Kusagakure, rather then spending the night in the small village.
He quickly traveled through the lush fertile lands back towards the Village hidden in the Grass.
