Konohagakure no Sato Shisou Clan Market Gen'ei smiled from behind his facemask and handed the long package wrapped in brown paper he held to the shinobi before him. "We fixed your broken blade and tightened up the hilt, should be good as new." The shinobi thanked him and unwrapped the package, admiring the repaired blade within. "If it needs any further repairs, be sure to bring it back to us!" Gen'ei said enthusiastically, the young scion of the Shisou clan gave a thumbs up to the shinobi as he left and then stepped into the back room.
Parting the cloth curtain that separated the storefront from the secondary forge room where normal goods were crafted, Gen'ei lowered his face mask - the heat in the forge room required it - and scratched the back of his head. His father, Shisou Jin, was busy hammering away at another repair job. "Order number thirteen picked up his repair. How's that sickle coming?"
"Are are..." His father muttered. "... This guy should stick to farming with this piece of crap and stop trying to spar with it. I don't know how many more times we can repair it." Gen'ei laughed and shrugged. "Well, he can't afford a Shisou original, so he just gets us to repair his old equipment." His father grunted. "I'd consider dropping the prices if he brings this back one more time."
Gen'ei laughed. His father would drop his prices if the man asked nicely, but the Shisou clan leader's imposing form tended to keep people from asking favors. To be fair, he was a giant blacksmith who worked metal on a forge for a living. Gen'ei whistled sharply and Fenrir, Gen'ei's guardian from their wolf pact, trotted into view. A handful of their summoned animals lived with the Shisou, and Fenrir was one of them. "C'mon Fenrir, lets go wait for customers."
Gen'ei and Fenrir returned to the storefront, Fenrir hopping onto a crate near the forge door and curling up. Gen'ei patted the wolf on the head and sat in his seat, waiting for the next customer.

After the recent string of events, Masahige decided it was time for an insurance policy. It would be in the form of a weapon, though not one made by your average blacksmith. Among those in the Hidden Leaf, the Shisō Clan was well known for their talents. Masahige planned to make use of those talents for himself.
He calmly strolled up the storefront where Shisō Gen'ei and a large wolf stood. Masahige glanced at the wolf with his one revealed eye, and then focused on Gen'ei. He remembered reading this man's file.
"Shisō Gen'ei," Masahige greeted. "How is business today?"
The weapon he'd wanted to procure from this clan stayed prevalent in the back of his mind.

Gen'ei was surprised to see the Hokage, but he stood up immediately and smiled behind his mask, scratching the back of his head. "Ah, Hokage-sama, business is fine." Fenrir opened his eyes to stare at the Hokage, his ears flicked forward, and then just as decisively closed them and let his ears return to their rest. Gen'ei stepped back towards the forge room curtain and stuck his head through it. "Otousan, the Hokage is here." He said in a sharp voice before returning to the counter.
Moments later, the larger form of Shisou Jin - Gen'ei's father - appeared through the curtain, soot blackening his face in spots which he was attempting to wipe clean with a cloth. "Hokage-sama, what can we help you with at our humble forge?"

"Jin-san," Masahige greeted with a nod. "I'm here to request a weapon be made. In light of recent events, I feel it is necessary."
Particularly, he needed a weapon that could be effective against Doton-based techniques such as his own. The actual form of the weapon wasn't complicated-- just a tantō that was easily concealed from or disregarded by the enemy. But the requirement was that it needed to be able to produce the Lightning Element, which was a chakra affinity that Masahige did not posses. It was the exact opposite to his primary affinity.
"I would like to request a tantō that can function with the Lightning Element," he stated. "One that could be disregarded as a standard weapon."

Shisou Jin folded his heavily muscled arms and scratched his chin as he listened to the Hokage's request. "A simple enough weapon - Is there anything else in particular that you'd like about the weapon, or would you like me to handle the functionality of the blade?" Gen'ei, in the meantime, disappeared into the Forge, only to momentarily come back out holding a pair of blades - both short swords of the style the Hokage had desired.
"Here are a pair of similar weapons others have requested, Hokage-dono. This one..." He draws one of the tantô out and offers it to the Hokage, hilt first. "If you channel your chakra through the seal on the blade, it will generate wind chakra all around it, giving the blade an incredible cutting edge." He then removed the second tantô from it's sheath and poffered it. "This one has a seal in the same place, but it creates a blade of water that extends however long the user desires and can take on whatever form they wish."

Masahige inspected both blades. The tantō imbued with the Wind Element was more to his tastes. He only pictured needing the Lightning Element to coat the blade, like the Chidori in appearance. Nothing fancy, really.
"I need the weapon to be somewhat like this," he said, raising the wind tantō. "If you can imagine a tantō with the Chidori wrapped around it; that is what I want."

"Hai." Gen'ei took the blades back and returned them to their place in the forge room. Jin in the meantime scratched his chin in thought. "Mining the ore and forging it will take a day. The ritual to imbue the blade with the desired effect another half-day, and a half day for polishing and honing the edge. We should be able to deliver the weapon to your office in three days time." Jin brought his right fist into his left palm in a decisive gesture and looked over at Gen'ei. "Send word to the mines, we'll need some fresh ore by the morning."
Gen'ei nodded and put his fist and hand together in a bow to the Hokage as Fenrir stretched himself awake. The large wolf hopped down from his perch and trotted through the door to the forge, followed by Gen'ei. The scion of the Shisou clan hurried through the back of the forge which opened to the Shisou clan district - closed off from the rest of the village by large walls and buildings, the main entrance to the district was through the shop. The only other entrance, other than over the walls, was through the mines.
Which is where Gen'ei was heading.

"I see," Masahige replied. "Then I will wait patiently until then. Have a pleasant day, Jin-san."
He nodded his head again, and then turned and walked away.
