After his business with Chōmei and Oda had concluded Shu looked to the sky. It was late, but the moon was still high in the sky, in all of its full and radiant glory. Yet this was no time to kick back and relax. There was one more sibling that he needed to reach out to while the moon was still out. However, the thought of what was to come next caused the tanuki to sigh deeply.
What's wrong? Rinkō's voice questioned in his mind, noticing his exasperation.
He would not answer. There was no point. She would come to understand soon enough. Forming the unique one handed seal and disappeared in a puff of smoke. In an instant he was standing on a road, just outside of a town. He growled lowly at the change in environment. Everything was moist. The ground. The road. The air. There was even a light layer of mist that hovered around.
Ah. I understand now, the woman said.
Water was always something that brought the tanuki grief. All it did was weight him down, making it more difficult for him to manipulate sand. It was an unnecessary frustration that he avoided at all costs. However, desperate times called for desperate measures.
"Let's just get this over with," Shu grumbled as he found the driest location that he could, which wasn't that much better than anywhere else, and sat down in a meditative stance. He then closed his eyes and allowed himself to dive into the subconscious. This was going to be a private talk so he set up some blockades for the remaining beasts that did not reside in Mizu no Kuni. "Where are you Saiken? It's about time we had a heart to heart."

MIZU NO KUNI In Transit Taigetsu was in the midst of travelling away from Kirigakure with Sadamune, on his mission to rescue Shen and the Sanbi, when the communication came through. In the white emptiness of the mental space, Taigetsu - sitting between Saiken's eyestalks - looked upon Shu.
"Who's this punk?" He asked aloud.
Shukaku. I'd know that menacing chakra anywhere, though this form is a new one. Saiken said, his voice echoing through both the Bijû and his Jinchûriki. The Hozuki shrugged and hopped down from Saiken, standing between his Bijû and this other one in human form. He looked him up and down, scratched the side of his head, and looked back at Saiken. "If you say so, big guy."
So, Shukaku, to what do we owe the pleasure...?

Shu's expression soured as he laid eyes on the blonde haired child. As much of a statement it was to the changing times, bijū and jinchūriki living harmoniously together, it was annoying to deal with the humans. They tended to be obnoxiously irreverent, cockily hiding behind their monstrous friends to protect them. If he had his way he would skin them all just for daring to breath in his presence. His expression didn't get any better as the Mickey Mouse-ish voice of Saiken pierced his ears. This seemed like it was going to be an even more grating experience than dealing with the happy-go-lucky beetle.
"Huh," Shu huffed in mild surprise upon realizing the form he had taken. Perhaps he had been staying in this form too much. In a matter of seconds a large sand storm whirled around the Bijūtsukai form before turning into the titanic sand beast. "It appears that I am here to rectify Isobu's failures," the tanuki said rather harshly, allowing his voice to resonate in the void should the turtle be listening. "How aware are you of the threat that we face?"

Hai. Bijutsukai. Saiken replied. Taigetsu whistled slightly as the man before him transformed into the giant sand beast. "So that's what the one tails looks like." He said, hopping back up to sit between Saiken's eye stalks. The slug eyed Shukaku with interest - He has never known his sibling to take a human form outside of a Jinchûriki, which was another thing he did not see alongside the tanuki. Though it is not the Bijutsukai that have captured Isobu. We are currently moving to retrieve him and his jinchûriki from a third party. I assume that is why you're contacting us?
Taigetsu closed his eyes while sitting atop Saiken, his consciousness returning to the present time where he was maneuvering along land. They still had quite a ways to go, so he felt comfortable leaving his boy on 'auto pilot' as it were, and returning his focus to the mental plane - so he did, eyes opening once again, listening to the conversation of giants.

Golden eyes narrowed on the slug when he stated that he was completely aware of the Bijūtsukai threat. If he knew about them then he must have talked to Isobu, or perhaps news of Ōjin reached even the shores of Mizu no Kuni. Since he could not be sure he would not dismiss the slug so readily. Not until he pried some more information from the beast. However, if he had spoken to Isobu then he should have known of his plan, unless Isobu decided to withhold that information. Once again, he needed to gather some facts.
"What do you mean he got captured?" Shu growled. The slugs question seemed to imply he had no idea of the meeting that he held. On top of that the damn turtle went and got caught by someone that wasn't even with the Tamers. He was starting to doubt his plan. In theory, gathering the tailed beasts together for a united front sounded unstoppable. Yet in the hands of incompetent shinobi their power was all but useless to his needs. "Nevermind him for now," the tanuki said dismissively. "I came here to find out your stance in this battle against our persecutors. Will you aide me? Or will you sit idly by clinging to tit of your precious village like an infant?"

"Is that how you ask someone for help?" Taigetsu spoke, from atop Saiken. The Hozuki stared into the beast, unimpressed by his size or his attitude. He pulled a water bottle off his side and took a swig, holding onto it as he continued to speak. "Aren't all of you tailed beasts siblings? Shouldn't you have more care for one another than that? Especially when he's been captured." He was obviously irritated by the Tanuki, a state which was dangerous for Taigetsu - who was prone to bursts of berserker fury.
Calm, Taigetsu. Saiken said, rubbing his belly with one of his small arms. Shukaku, I know not of your battle against the Bijutsukai - only of their existence. Please, enlighten me sibling. Saiken knew Shukaku's anger well, and would not rise to it. The only way to work with the tanuki was to remain as indifferent to his anger as possible. Fortunately for the slug, this was not too difficult a task. It was keeping Taigetsu calm that would be the difficult aspect of this meeting.

Shu's attention would not shift from Saiken. He really grew tired of dealing with the fleshy ball and chains that came with these meetings. Especially how sickeningly attached they were to them. Granted, his relationship with Rinkō was very much like that. They mocked each other. Joked around. Berated one another. For all intensive purposes, they had started to become friends, and he would kill anyone just for looking at her wrong. All in all, it was a fairly hypocritical standpoint on his part. He knew it. He just didn't care.
"Your whelp, as indignant as it may be, is correct. The Bijūtsukai wish to seal us away permanently. They have already succeeded in capturing Kokuo and failed in their attempts to grab me," he said as he created a sand clone of the Bijūtsukai. "At the cost of one of their own," he added rather proudly. "I will not allow another Akatsuki to burden our kind again. It is because we share this mutual enemy that I have attempted to bring us all under one banner. More important than that we are a family." His tail swished from side to side as he looked in what would function as the slugs eyes. "Broken and dysfunctional as we may be. Chōmei, Isobu, and even Kurama agree that we must face this foe together. It was because of our isolation from each other that we were able to be picked off so easily the last time."
The tanuki then decided to address the issue of Isobu's capture.
"Besides, if the shy bastard really wanted help getting out of that bind he could have just summoned me."

Fair points, Shukaku. Still, I would not call on you were I in his place. It would be best to not convince the area that some third power is attacking them. This civil war Mizu no Kuni finds itself in is already crowded enough. Saiken responded, speaking to Shukaku's statement of Isobu summoning him if he wanted. Your plan is a good one, sibling. I can see the benefit of rallying the bijû together for a common purpose. What say you, Taigetsu? Saiken's eye stalks shifted, doing something that most other creatures would find nauseating and looking in between themselves to Taigetsu, who was sitting there.
Taigetsu shrugged. "I don't mind killing things that wish harm on me or my friends."
It would appear we are in concurrance. Saiken said, his eyestalks straightening back up to look at Shukaku. Any in person meetings will have to wait until after we've retrieved Isobu and his host, but I do wish to know if you've a plan for freeing Kokuo.

"So be it. Rescue Isobu and his brat from their captors," Shu said dismissively. The important part of this meeting had been accomplished. Saiken agreed to help out in the fight against the Bijūtsukai. "I'll give you a week or two to get yourselves sorted. Just be ready when I return."

Hai. Saiken said as the communication ended. Still in the mental space, Taigetsu looked at his bijû and spoke. "He's a gruff kind of guy, isn't he?" Saiken's eye stalks reoriented on his Jinchûriki To be fair, most of my siblings are. I sometimes feel that I am at odds with my brethren in not being angry more often than not. Well, perhaps with the exception of the Eight tails. Taigetsu chuckled at the thought, and his consciousness returned to the realm of reality, where he was speeding along to rescue Shen.
