Her teammates had gone off doing other things. Like reading doujins, or drinking beer at their house or something. So now she was on her own, which was not a good sign, considering she had been assigned to track down one of the most notorious groups in this day and age. Her search would start on the outskirts of Hi no kuni, near a small border town. She wasn't actually to the town yet, but was well on her way, opting to travle the road this day instead of riding the clouds. With her backpack on, she was adorned with much of the same gear and outfit she normally wore, minus the hitai ate. Reasons being, hiding the fact she was a Konohagakure no sato ninja would be useful in her journey. Ninja had a reputation, and speaking to one about discreet information always somehow went wrong. But speaking rumors to a traveller, that was something that happened all the time.
The road up ahead split, one path leading down into a valley the other with the signpost saying it went to town. This would be an okay place to stop, as she found a rock to sit upon near the sign post. Fishing a water bottle from her pack, she sat down and took a drink.
As she drank her water, she paused and set the bottle down. Her eyes were caught by a flyer that was adorning the ground. "Sunagakure no sato Winter Festival?" She thought to herself, reading the flier. It spoke of the festival which was a few days from now. Meaning if she left she could possibly make it to the festival, and see what was going on there.
"No, hold on... That would be off mission... wait...perhaps I wont be the only one attending... we'll see..."
She said to herself, picking the bottle back up and taking a drink, before closing it and putting it back in her backpack. Sunagakure was a few days off, if she wanted to make it in time for the festival, walking would not do.
Looking up, she figured it would be about a days travel via the sky highway. Her mind thought to the distance. She stood and looked skyward, as she focused. The sky rumbled, as clouds began to form. A cloud came down form the sky, compacting as it did so. Finally it came down beside her. Gingerly she stepped up onot the cloud, and then lifted skyward. Looking like some kind of oother worldy being riding the cloud, she made sure to get up into the clouds so she could begin her real travelling.
As she came to stand amongst the clouds, she looked down and wondered just how far she would have to go. With a sigh, she adjusted her glasses and took off, running across the clouds like little islands. Occasionally jumping oto a cloud and riding it across the sky like some kind of surfboard. She would travel this way, high above the land, with the winds pushing the clouds and her own movement, she passed out of Hi no kuni, and soon enough was into Kaze no kuni. It was a few hours of travel, but it was worth it.
