Taki no Kuni Region Information
Taki no Kuni is widely considered to be the most beautiful of all the nations. It is a land covered in rolling hills, deep forests, sheer cliffs, and most notably, thousands of waterfalls. The rain that pours down from the mountains of Tsuchi no Kuni creates these waterfalls, which are further fueled by the absurd amount of rivers in Taki no Kuni. These falls have created an equal amount of large, underground caverns, and serve to fuel a very unique ecosystem that accommodates exotic animals of all sorts. Only in Taki no Kuni can one find zebra and elk at the same watering hole.
Tsuchi no Kuni, Yuki no Kuni, Kusa no Kuni, and Hi no Kuni all border Taki no Kuni. The forests and hills familiar to Taki change depending on the region they go into, becoming steep mountains to Tsuchi and Yuki, a sakura tree forest to Kusa, and a series of deep valleys into Hi.
Towns in Taki no Kuni are all extremely traditional in appearance. Large pagodas worshipping rulers, spirits, and gods alike dot the landscape, each one surrounded by temples built from stone or large towns. Taki no Kuni’s capital, Nijiro Kirijou (lit. Rainbow Spray), is in the center of Taki no Kuni’s largest lake, the Nijiro. This lake rests within a massive extinct volcano, whose crater has been filled with rainwater. Four waterfalls overflow from this crater, and given the sheer drop of eight hundred feet, create a dazzling array of rainbows found nowhere else in the world.Takigakure no Sato
The reborn Takigakure no Sato was moved to a new location upon its creation. No non-taki shinobi know where the new village is, even the daimyo who controls it, and due to its relatively young age, the secret has yet to be leaked.
Whereas the old Takigakure no Sato was located underneath a mystical tree in the heart of the forests of Taki no Kuni, the new village is somewhere entirely different: it is underground. Utilizing the caverns created by the lakes and waterfalls of the land, the Eboshi clan was able to find a massive cavern--one big enough to hold a small city--that housed its own secluded forest. Using the trees and mud, they were able to create the buildings needed for a shinobi village.
In order to gain entrance to Takigakure no Sato, one must find one of the springs around it that, through a system of natural underground tunnels, lead to the cavern proper. Each of the five springs is guarded by sensors thoroughly trained in the methods needed to hide perfectly in the environment. As a result, due to the unmarked springs and their guards, it is near impossible to invade the village.
Those who wish to communicate to Takigakure no Sato’s lord, Eboshi Seiichi, must send their messages through the daimyo, where it is then given to a messenger-nin who takes it to the hidden village.
