Fighting Styles & Taijutsu
Ugoka burēdo
blade without motion
Kenjutsu, Fighting Style
a specific style of kenjutsu that is concerned with the smooth, controlled movements of drawing the sword from its scabbard, striking or cutting an opponent, removing blood from the blade, and then replacing the sword in the scabbard. The linear motion and force applied to draw the sword from the scabbard results in slashes that are faster and stronger than ones executed with the sword already drawn.
The speed at which these techniques can be executed — the initial strike in particular — is such, that when performed by a skilled user, it can prevent enemy shinobi from forming hand seals (and thus ninjutsu), by exploiting the small opening that these movements create.
Saisho no katto
the first cut
Kenjutsu
The user performs a quick and powerful slash with their sword in order to cut the intended target, before immediately resheathing the blade afterwards.
Togisumasa reta ejji
the honed edge
Taijutsu, Chakra Flow
An addition-line ninjutsu that augments the killing power of a blade — like a kunai or sword — by flowing chakra into it. The materialised chakra is shaped like a blade, cutting up everything it touches. It is also possible to alter the attack range of the weapon by adjusting the amount of chakra put into the blade. Seeing through the movements is said to be very difficult.
The density of the chakra is so high it becomes visible. It not only raises the power of the weapon, but simultaneously turns oneself into a blade as well. The chakra-enhanced blades are strong and sharp enough to cut through solid rock and iron. The technique works best with elemental chakra, especially with wind-natured chakra which greatly increases the offensive cutting power.
Katto no toreiru
trail of the cut
Kenjutsu, Chakra Flow
A swift ranged attack where the user swings their sword at a target after coating it in chakra, releasing a sharp crescent of chakra in the arc that the blade was swung.

Raiton: Raitsume
Lightning Release: Lightning Claw
Ninjutsu, C-Rank
Using the natural electricity of the body, the user pulls out electricity and coats the fingers of one hand in it. The electricity is then transferred to an opponent via a finger-jab or claw-slash.
Kirigakure no Jutsu
Water Release: Hiding in Mist Technique
Ninjutsu, D-Rank
The Hiding in Mist Technique is a speciality of the ninja from Kirigakure, where one causes a mist to spring forth by lifting up some water from either a pre-existing source or expelled from their mouth, then goes in and out of sight at will from within the pearly-white realm. The mist's thickness is controlled by the amount of chakra kneaded into it. It can't fool the Byakugan, but, due to the mist being created with the user's chakra, any Sharingan and Rinnegan-user will see the mist coloured by their opponent's chakra, which will effectively hide the user from the dōjutsu.
Suiton: Suijinheki
Water Release: Water Encampment Wall
Ninjutsu, B-Rank

Suirō no Jutsu
Water Release: Water Prison Technique
Ninjutsu, C-Rank
A Ninjutsu technique that utilizes water to imprison an opponent. The ninja forms the necessary hand seals which causes the water to form around the target into a spherical prison which only allows for limited movement. The ninja must keep their body touching the water prison to maintain its existence. If the contact is broken, the water falls away and their target is released. When combined with a Bunshin technique, the ninja can imprison their target but still allow for a clone to attack others nearby.
Mizu Bunshin no Jutsu
Water Release: Water Clone Technique
Ninjutsu, C-Rank
A Ninjutsu technique that utilizes water to create a Bunshin clone. Unlike a normal Bunshin, the Mizu Bunshin has the ability to interact more with the environment due to it having physical substance. This allows the clone to carry out limited attacks on its target. The range of the clone is limited however, it can not travel very far from the original body. If the Mizu Bunshin is injured, the clone will usually revert back into its natural water state.
Mizu Shunshin no Jutsu
Water Release: Water Body Flicker Technique
Ninjutsu, C-Rank
A variant of the Shunshin, using water to cover the user's movements. When utilized, the user will disperse in the form of a splash of water, which serves to distract the enemy.
