| A heavy shadow looming on the ground, a figure in the sky. A great and terrible bird drawing near to the Village Hidden in the Rain. An overture played in the background to introduce the bird... We've been spending most our lives living in a gangster's paradise. We've been spending most our lives living in a gangster's paradise.
We keep spending most our lives living in a gangster's paradise. We keep spending most our lives living in a gangster's paradise. The shadow approached and swiftly breached the walls surrounding the village. The directory of the bird changed, as if by some driving force drawing it toward Wani Ryuze. The tower drew near, and the bird entered through an open window without slowing down. Before it was an open door, and just inside that door was a lone female. The bird entered... and slammed right into the back of Ryuze's head. In the commotion that followed, Bakatū lay prone on the ground. |

Ryuze stared down dismally at her desk, hands hovering helplessly. The day that she was dreading had finally come. She had run out of space. Her drawers were full of paperwork, receipts and contracts, and now her desktop was covered, as well. She definitely needed a bigger desk. Heck, she needed a bigger office. But that would come in time. For now, she would make do. The repairs to the village were coming along swimmingly. The destruction of the ruined towers and buildings was beginning, the twisted and broken scrap metal being pulled down and apart and gathered for reuse. Sio was settling in nicely, despite heavily missing Konohagakure.
Yes, for the time, everything was coming up Ryuze.
She sighed, taking a long, hard look at her desk. This all had to be organized. There was no way it could stay like this. Perhaps once that was done, she would go out and help with the repairs, just to get a taste of this beautiful day they were having: a rare day without rain. Though the sky was mostly overcast, there was the occasional break in the clouds, allowing some sunshine to break through. Gathering all the papers together, she then began forming neat piles of contracts, incoming mail and outgoing reports. Just as she was about to set the last sheet of paper atop the pile, a flutter of green shot through the open door, pinballing around the room insanely.
"The fu-" Ryuze started to get out, attempting and failing miserably to track the bird around the tiny, cramped room. But with one eye, one's depth perception wasn't what it could have been, and she quickly lost sight of him. WHAM! a searing pain shot through the back of her head as she fell forward into the stacks, scattering them all over the desk and floor again. "AHHHHHH! SOMVABITCH!" she screeched as she went down, blinding by searing bright lights of pain. Once her vision cleared, she turned to see the bird on the floor behind her chair. Dumbshit bird must have a death wish. Well, it was getting close to lunchtime, anyway. Perhaps she could just eat in today...

| The bird opened one eye, staring straight forward on the floor. "... BRAAK! SUBORI, SUBORI... HIDDEN GRASS!" The bird tried to achieve flight, but failed to do so, instead flopping around on the floor until it reached Ryuze's desk. It flopped up against the desk a few times, smacking its head against it. After a moment of this, it finally made its way to its feet. Standing there, it teetered back and forth, staring at Ryuze. It cocked its head to one side. Before she could say anything to it, the bird raised one wing, curling the feathers on the end of the wing until just one was raised in the air. It as almost as if the bird was telling Ryuze to wait a moment while it gathered composure. The bird coughed a few times, letting out a caw here and there. It wheezed a bit, and then appeared to clear its throat and stand straight. "My humblest apologies for that, my dear lady. It was most uncouth. I sincerely beg of your forgiveness. I have a message from the honorable lady Subori, our beloved leader of Hidden Grass." The bird paused, its eyes crossing as it let out a swift braak. "The honorable lady Subori would like to visit your lovely, sparkling wet village. She would like to introduce herself and hopefully establish some sort of regular rapport with you, if at all possible." Bakatū's eyes crossed once more. "BRAAK! WAKA LAKA! WHAT'S YOUR ANSWER, WHAT'S YOUR ANSWER?!" He fell over on his side. |

When the bird regained consciousness, screaming and flapping about, I shit you not: Ryuze flew up onto her desk with a startled yelp. What was going on? What type of day was this becoming? Why was this happening to her? Wherever the bird hpahazardly flapped to, Ryuze was quick to get out of the way, quickly ending withe the bird on the desk and Ryuze in the mop bucket in the corner of the room.
She listened as he spoke with that cocktail of fear and confusion coursing through her veins. Finally, she flailed her hands, as if warding him off from coming closer or flying at her again. "Yes! YES, whatever she wants!" Ryuze said urgently. "Tell her to come next Wednesday. At like...noon. We'll meet by the fountain. Is that all?" The bird could not leave soon enough for Ryuze.

| Bakatū began to flap his one upright wing, causing him to inch his way across the floor, sliding on his beak. It took him several seconds to reach the open door, where he stopped with one wild eye focused on Ryuze. "... BRAAK! BRAAAAAK!!" A fat tongue poked from the bird's mouth. It lay there a moment, staring weirdly at Ryuze, before it flapped its wing and began to inch its way beyond the door and out of sight. A moment later, a flapping of wings would tell Ryuze the bird was now in flight just outside her makeshift office. The sound of the bird smacking against the wall and windows alluded to its unstable flight. It took several tries before it found an open one, and the feather flap of wings was heard no longer. However, every few seconds a braak could still be heard, growing further away in distance each time. |
